I'm close to purchasing a 9262 with a 1680x1050 however i need input from anyone with this particular screen. How are the viewing angles, the brightness and contrast. Also is there any graininess or sparkle effects on a white backdrop. Any info is appreciated. Pics would help too.

Malignant,
I believe this is a 9260 with the LP171WE2 screen.
- this was the first generation of the Clevo D900C/D901C and NBR received one of the first units with a 1680x1050 glossy panel... which at the time should be the LP171WE2
check it out... in the reviews of all places
good pics and video too

Enjoy. -
I have one in my M570RU, it´s a nice screen but not spectacular...
It haves 25ms of time response, 600:1 contrast ratio, 300nit of brightness... the viewing angles are 130/100, so not very good compared with 140/120 of the LP171WU1.
-
but viewing angle is not that important since I am looking at the screen at direct angles... your 1680x1050 has better contrast.
No complaints... even the 25ms response is not noticeable overall... compared to the vivid colors and clear images. -
Thanks for the replies.. Audigy when viewing from the right or left is it a lot darker or is it like viewing the screen straight on?
-
look at the review Malignant... good angled digital cam pics.
-
The LP171WU1 have better contrast ratio, 700:1, better response times, 16ms, more colour contrast, 50, but less brightness wich is normal because of the extra ressolution.
As you can see here(extracted from a LGPhillips PDF):

Definitely looks good from chaz's pics. Exactly what i was looking for but does it have any graininess or sparkley effects with white backgrounds? Also i read a review of a toshiba X205-S9349 at anandtech. They said their program reported that their screen was an LG Philips LP171WE3 (LPL 0060) which i assume would be better or similar to the LP171WE2. It had horrible viewing angles, the screen gets really dark viewing from left and right. On chaz's review viewing from left and right was like viewing from straight on. So just trying to figure it all out.
Heres the article, pic of viewing angles near middle of the article from anantechs site

Back in March 2006... this was the only 1920x1200 LCD panel available to my knowledge and research.
So I got it. -
well ill look tonight wich lcd i have and if theres a dead pixel... i just received my laptop and its waiting for me at my house! yay!
-
so how is it?
-
-
that sucks
-
because he got a dead pixel.
-
Gophn are there multiple version of LP171WE2 and WU1? I see a lot of threads with a lot of different hardware ids.. LPLE400, LPLF0000, LPLF600, LPL0B0A, LPL0032, LPL0060 etc.. and they all have different qualities. I know not all of these are the same resolution.
-
I am trying to confirm it with some people... probably won't get answers for another day or so.... people are checking for me. -
ok thanks a lot
-
any update yet gophn?
-
not yet... still waiting for my contacts..
-
i got the LP171WE2... it has absolutely no light leakage and no sparkles... viewing angles are really good, but sometimes brightness can seem a little dim.
-
ah what do you mean sometimes? and do you mean looking at it straight on?
-
sometimes like in a very bright room or a room with a lot of sun.
-
the screen on my brothers a8js is brighter in these situations.
