Just make sure you have the exact same screen model number, you cannot and shouldn't use a profile that isn't for the exact same model.ElCaptainX likes this. -
how can i check the screen model number dude?

True that, one must try the profile and see how it is on his particular screen. It looks awesome on mine.Vasudev likes this. -

You can also use it as a base and tweak from there if you like.

@Matrix Leader this should work with the same pannel, the SPD1 version too I guess.. Will give a shot and let you guys kmow!

The lighting in the environment plays a role in how the calibration comes across as well, from what I understand. Hopefully the profile suits people well enough in spite of the variables.

I have noticed that www.notebookcheck.net provides a downloadable display ICC (or ICM) profile whenever they review a laptop. In the display paragraph of their review. That's nice. They use the X-Rite i1Pro 2 for calibration. I downloaded their ICM for the LG Philips LP156WF6, installed it, and at least subjectively it improved my screen quality. Of course I am aware that no two screens are exactly the same, even if they're supposed to be identical, and that there may be subtle differences from one system to the other etc etc. Nevertheless ... it's seems to be better than it was. And if you haven't got access to your own calibration equipment, these profiles are probably at least going to make things a little bit better than if you did nothing at all. Or am I wrong?

I dunno, I would imagine that if you use a profile that doesn't work well for your monitor, you could end up getting colors that don't look quite right and you may be happier with the default calibration/colors. -
By the way; according to this site, in order to make use of the gamma corrections in the ICC profile, it's also necessary to tick the "Use Windows display calibration" box (seen in the 3rd screenshot in the opening post). Procedure is described in the link.

Sold out at home (Not interested in 4K). Consider Eurocom or Mythlogic now. But the best has been to buy this at home. The Norwegian government shall have 10-15% tax on everything you buy over $ 40 outside Norway(Also on shipping
). But if I buy this monster at home I have a 5-year national warranty at no extra cost... We have one of world's best guarantees on electronics/everything. This has a value that I also must take into consideration. But
@Prema mod bios/vbios for this nice BGA killer
is very important to me

That can add up on an expensive purchase, but 10% isn't so bad (our sales tax in CA, in the U.S. is close to that). Dat 5 year guarantee, though...

Wow, that made a night and day difference, thanks man.
I edited the main post to include those instructions.
Everyone who used this profile please check the first post in this thread and do the extra step I mentioned in the last 2 images -
Ps. Compared precisely Prostar's price vs Multicom online store in Norway on P870. The same configuration on P870 with the current exchange rate (2 x 512GB 950 Pro, 1Gb Hdd, 32GB ram, Gtx980, G-Sync screen and i7-6700K) Prostar = $ 3,584 vs webshop in Norway = $ 3,910 including a 5 year free warranty... Prostar comes roughly equal the price when I have to pay extra additional taxes to Norwegian government on the purchase of this monster from Prostar.
You have probably no agreement with @Prema about the mod bios. Or have you thought about this?
Edit: I checked just the import calculator at home. It is about $ 470 more expensive if I buy P870 from Prostar. Provided that Prostar can offer the same 5 year warranty and free shipping.Last edited: Dec 22, 2015 -

Currently there is no collaboration with Prema.
That 5 year guarantee is hard to beat, too. Our extended warranty only extends as far as 3 years, and we can only cover two way shipping within North America.

i tried your profiles on my SPD1 since there is really not much difference between the SPD1 and SPF1. its to warm for my liking.

A Profile was made for the same screen, you cannot apply it on another, there is nothing such as "they are pretty much the same" Heck, even when applied on the same model there might be a slight difference, let alone trying it on a different model altogether. -
The SPD1 and SF1 are actually the same screens, just the way they are attached to the laptop is different.... But like you said, each pannel/person is different so the profile might not always work for you..Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Alright. Will try it out after i do a clean install. Hopefully nothing will go wrong. If i do it now before i reinstall windows10 then something happens, does reinstalling w10 fix it/bring it back to vanilla?
-
I tried the profile, and while it is kind of similar to the one the guys on notebookcheck came with it is a bit warm.
I mean, maybe it is a bit more natural, and your eyes strain way less, but it takes away a bit of the edge on greens and blues, making them a bit too warm.
The original colors, on the other hand, miss a bit with other nuances, which are a bit too cold, and take away some warmth, so I guess that every single panel with the same name is different.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

Unfortunately you'd get charged 25% sales tax on any import, same as what any purchase from inside Norway is charged at :-( Still very high but not massively higher than some non-Nordic countries i.e. 20% UK or 19% Germany.Papusan likes this.
-
You're absolutely correct. I told wrong info in earlier post. 25% tax on everything I order over $ 41 overseas. There will also be added 25% tax on top of (shipping, customs clearance at the border)
Edit: I saved about $ 2,860 on the purchase of my P870 laptop at home (same model setup) instead of Eurocom or similar places. This is very much saved money. In addition, I also have 5 year national warranty vs only 3 years from Eurocom. Norway is very cheap on the purchase of computers(same as U.S) but not on spare parts or computers in parts.Last edited: Mar 22, 2016 -

Why the new calibration ?
Also, @Phoenix . I know I should not be showing this to you, especially as you own one of the best gaming mouses, but I think you might enjoy this little toy. Have you heard of this mouse?
It's named RAT Pro X. IT's very comfy XD !
I want to ask how does G900 feel like? -

Those RAT mice are nice on how you can customize them to fit your hand the best.

The G900 is the best mouse I ever used. That mouse you showed me looks cool but I don't ever buy things with modular parts. I have no patience I would probably rip the mouse apart before I get to changing anything successfully.
Why the new calibration? Spyder5Pro software update to v 5.02 -
Modular mouses, Especially rat pro X are very easy to change parts. only a screw, and magnets.
I was saying because I know how you enjoy premium things, and as far as mouses go, this must be the best I've ever tried. It;s not wireless.
Yes. And the new models can tweak the scroll. That is the best part! Making the scroll harder or smoother is so nice! -
G602 is better IMO, cheaper and personally correct placement of everything for me!Georgel likes this.

Will a SPF1 profile work for my SPD1?
What's the difference between these two panels? -
I could not see any difference using this profile versus the stock Windows profile. Everything looked identical to me. But, I'm partially colorblind and that probably has something to do with it.

Check the last image in post 1 of this thread, that's the missing part of the riddle for you if you don't do that then the profile won't work. The difference is night and day and is immediately visible.

Hmm... I followed your instructions before and checked that box. It must not have stuck because now it's unchecked again. This time the screen got dimmer when I checked it. Thanks, bro. Tried to rep you but I have to spread it around more before the system will let me. Now, I'll have to tinker with it and see how it works. don't be quick to judge, at first, it may look awkward but once you get used to it, you will realize that's the natural colors that stuff is supposed to look like in the first place and what you were accustomed to before are just wrong colors.
PS: Regarding the rep, please summon @hmscott for rep management.
thank you -
I like it. The screen is not as bright, but everything looks really good, bro. It's always difficult for me to discern subtle differences in colors, especially softer and darker colors. I don't easily notice "wrong" colors even when I am looking at things in real life that are not being displayed on a screen. Lots of really dark colors are like varying shades of black and dark grayscale to me, but vivid colors I can see well. Like the red in my fox logo looks great, but a deep maroon looks like black unless I put it next to black, then I can tell it's maroon if I stare at it long enough. That's just how my eyes work. You know those color blind test with dots on them and the eye doctor asks "what do you see?" ...well, my answer is always dots... just dots, that's all. I can tell they are not all the same color, but they are so close to the same that I can never discern the hidden letters and numbers.Last edited: Jun 25, 2016Georgel and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.
