I've had my laptop for about a year, I recently reinstalled Windows but now when I'm playing the games lag even in the lowest settings. I was playing yesterday and it was lagging, I unplugged it and then it ran much better :S I think it's using the integrated video card or something, is there anyway to check this or any other suggestions?

Hmm yes I highly doubt you were running on the integrated video card.

Have you checked you battery options? Is it on Power Saver? Make sure when you are gaming you are on High Performance ;)

Other than that, I would advice updating your graphics drivers, what kind of GPU are you currently working with?

The 8130 doesn't have the ability to run on the integrated video, as it's not wired up to the screen at all. I'd agree with jaug in that you should check that you're not running on power saver mode and that your machine is not overheating (when's the last time you cleaned the dust out?)

It wasn't on power saver, it was on balanced and then I tried it on max performance. I have a 460 as my graphic card. I've never really cleaned the dust out, kinda scared to do it, any tips and materials I will need?
Also, I updated my drivers about two weeks ago.

Just a can of compressed air, if you're afraid to crack the laptop open, just shoot the air can into the fan, if you feel adventurous you just need to remove the bottom plate and clean the fan in the same manner

As for disassembling the laptop, there are countless guides in this forum. Sorry I can't link you

It's actually really easy to do. There should be a large bottom panel with vents in it that should occupy roughly 50% of the bottom area. Remove the screws retaining it, it should slide off.

Fans and heatsinks will be in plain view on the left and right sides.

When you use compressed can air, hold the can upright, not sideways or upside down and do not shake the can.

Just blow the dust out of the fans and heatsinks, replace the cover and you should be good to go. :D
