Hey guys, I have a question. I have my W860CU connected via HDMI to my Samsung P2470HD.

This monitor has Optical Out and is connected to a Hifi System (DTS and Dolby Digital)

My question, can I passthrough the digital audio signal from my laptop through the monitor to the HifiSystem?

i do the same thing for my sony bravia hdtv.
however i get only stereo sound out of my ht. im thinking my hdtv may not be capable of outputting diggital 5.1.
your hdtv has optical out so chances are it can output digital 5.1
guys in another forum suggested that you should connect your notebook to your ht first then ht to hdtv.

avsforum.com might be a better place to ask this kind of question, as it really doesn't relate to Sager, or even notebooks for that matter.
