I am looking at getting a P870KM1 in the near future and I have a question about hard drive configuration. I currently have a Sager 9270 that the graphics card died on. It has a Samsung 850 EVO SATA III SSD and a Seagate 1TB SSHD that I was going to use in the new laptop. I am trying to decide if it would be worth it to get a m.2 drive for just the operating system and if so which one(SATA, PCI, NVME?). If I did that, then the 850 SSD would just be used for game data.

How big is your current SSD? You have two M.2 slots to do with as you wish. NVME would be a mild speed upgrade.

Oops. I guess I forgot to put that in there. The SSD is 500K.

If the EVO is an adequate capacity for your needs, there's not much need to add an m.2 drive. The 850 EVO is a solid drive.
