like i have said this is only IF the m9750 run out of stock before i get the money together or they dont offer the 8800m as an upgrade -
Phantom,
Not bought one yet but have been spending a serious amount of time looking into it.
As far as I can work out, if you buy from the states/outside the EU you will get stung for VAT on entry. If you know anyone that is vat registered though, you should be able to get them to claim that back as a business expense.
If you import from the eu, you should not get hit for vat in the uk as long as you paid vat in the country you bought it in.
In either case you should not get hit with import duty (different charge from VAT apparently) as this is not charged on computer equipment.
Personally I am at a bit of a loss on what to do. The system I have configured at rock is about £3.2K (although seeing if they will discount that but not holding my breath) That does however include a 3 year collect and return warranty.
The best price I have got from the states works out to be from Rjtech which was £2.3K plus £150 shipping to uk plus Vat so roughly £2.8K.
This also includes a 2 year warranty. However, if anything goes kaput, thats another £300 shipping to and from the US. Makes the rock price look a bit better.
Now all reports say that the 9262's out there are good, reliable and well designed. BUT, there aren't that many (if at all) sli rigs out there which could bring some new problems to the table. 1 fault would basically even up the costs with rock. Plus they are based in this country so you could drive to them and have a rant if they treat you badly. Kinda hard to do with a company in the states.
Anyway other than flipping a coin I'm pretty stuck... -
By the way,

He told me that they will be releasing it next week and it should be orderable from tuesday. I'm guessing that won't be the sli though. -

Neil, I've got a question for you. How much would it cost me to get a D900C/D901C with a Q9450, 8800M GTX, 4GB RAM, WUXGA and a 320GB HDD?
I'm asking for a rough price-guessing (if you can give me one).
