Hey guys, I'm having a stange problem and I was wondering if you could help me out.

My NP9260 is beginning to "Overheat" faster and throttle back the entire GPU and give me Framerates that I would get while using the battery.

This NEVER happened to me before and yes I am using MAX fans, all the time actually.

This started happening recently, I think it might be the drivers I have
    (169.12 beta)

This notebook has always had an overheating issue, but it never go so hot that it throttled back the card.

I have the laptop on A LOT, I don't think a day has gone by where I haven't used this thing for an hour or more since the day I opened the box, and I plan on updating the GPU when December 9th rolls around. (I'm not worried the 8800GTX uses LESS power than my 7950 GTX)

    Computer specs:

    GPU: 7950 GTX (single)
CPU: Core 2 Duo (2.4 ghz)
    RAM: 2 gb
    OS: 32-bit VISTA (home pre)

Look at cleaning the vents and the fans. The symptoms sound like it is a possibility. If you look around for a post from Gophn on it. If not I am sure he will be around and post it.

As seen many times on these forums this issue is most likely caused by dusty fans and vents. If you can take some time, I would try to clean out the dust in the fans and see if that helps!

Sounds about right, time to break out the compressed air!

yeah, I have used it on some dusty surfaces, so I will try this first, then I'll call PowerNB if that doesn't help.
I need to call them about the 8800 anyways.
