Hey y'all! So, I've recently ordered the Eurocom Sky MX5 R3 and I've been looking around for the latest drivers. I've also used the Obsidian Tool to update the drivers. However, when I was searching the downloads/services on the official Clevo site, I found a newer Control center ( 5.0001.1.46) exhibited. Obsidian's latest CC was at 5.0001.1.07.

Anyways, all the download links on Clevo's site are broken. With a bit more searching for a valid link, I've snatched one from pro-star's site (though it was very slow to download).

I had issues with previous CC's not being able to launch the built-in CPU OC tool, this one seems to fix the issue. Anyways, here's the link hosted on Mega.nz.

    Download CC 5.0001.1.46

Updating the app as we speak.
There´s a good reason why we removed the OC tool (we manually edited the driver), it´s crap and uses the sucky Intel XTU service.
I even recommend getting a BIOS version that actually allows you to disable XTU support in BIOS.

I figured as much. For the past few days, I had a horrible experience using the built-in OC tool. Also, any changes in the OC tool were reflected on the BIOS values as well. Still using TT though and Eurocom's/Clevo's bios allows changing voltage/clocks but not as extensively as TT does.

Anyways, I'd like to take this chance to thank you John for the Obsidian Tool. A very fluent interface and great ease for updating drivers. :)

@john, do you keep the original version number intact when you add the modded CCC to your app?

I only change two things in the oem.ini file:

XTUFANTABLE and the Version Number (usually it says "Control Center Vxxxxx" and i change to the number only).

I tried installing both this latest variant and the Obsidian variant, neither doesn't seem to solve the fans spinning too fast problem I am experiencing, regardless of whether the XTUfan table is active or not

    Reset the BIOS:
    Turn Off
Press FN+D+Power untill it turns on.
A message should appear in the screen saying there was a reset.

    Did it :(

    At least to confirm...

I am running a 4.0 GHz, -100mV, 6700K CPU, and with 10 tabs of Notebookreview I am getting 80% fan speed on CPU, and even if I close those, they stay on. Even watching a movie is hard since the fans are so loud, at no virtual load.

Maybe the load of 10 Notebookreview Tabs is not as light as I would have thought, or maybe I took in a little virus and it is time for a full Windows Reinstall. The catch is that the system shows max 15% CPU load when this happens,...

Post screenie of whole Hwinfo when you see 80% fan speed aka this type load(as well pict of processes in task manager). Could yoo also uncheck Hotkey in Autoruns.exe(aka disable CCC and see how it goes after reboot-run same tasks). Thanks.

50% - 60% fan speed at the moment. I am really happy with the cool temps, but man,... for just chrome tabs doing nothing, this is really loud...

I am a bit curious why the GPU temps are so high with no load, but it should be okay in the long run...

Turn off HW acceleration in Chrome https://www.lifewire.com/hardware-acceleration-in-chrome-4125122
If you want to see fan speed in HWINFO, enable Thermal Device in preferences. I don't know if it causes a glitch or not.

Have you tried restore settings in Nvidia Control panel for power savings? And you should changed to a new and better thermal paste. This will lower temp and fan speed should be lower due lower temp.

Knowing CPU load, current temperatures and BIOS/EC would be all i need to help you.
PS. i dont even remember what is your laptop model so that would help too. lol

The Paste is relatively newly applied, the heatsink doesn't seem wrapped at all...

Clevo P775 DM3-G, 6700K, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, XTi SSD, WD Black HDD, Arctic Mx-4 Thermal Paste, sitting on a raised surface, has enough space to ventilate, also has space in the back to push the hot air.

6700K, -100mV, 85C Max with heavy loads, 4.0GHz, the main issue is fan noise now.

What BIOS and EC version are you using?
In Control Center are you using the Automatic Fan Profile?
As for the Power Profile, use Entertainment in Control Center.

    Automatic it was, and enterteinment.

BIOS version is 1.6.09 V2.1 Prema BIOS. I can't see the EC version right now, not sure where to look for it.

@Vasudev - I disabled HW accel within Chrome and now the high GPU temps are gone! :)

The fans always running at 50% of their speed thing is still there though... Point is that with the CPU at 10% - 15%, the fans at 50% is a bit high in my mind

I love to hear those fans on a clevo. Optionally, you can fan profile to Silent when you're doing non demanding task and switch to more aggressive fans when editing videos at high res.

I just wanna let people know, this version fixed the whole outside lid color not being able to be changed on P870DM3 with KBL CPUs.
