    system in sig.

decided to swap out the boring stock led software for Backlight Controller with LightFX http://clevomods.wordpress.com/custom-light-controller/ things were fine until i started putting my laptop to sleep. every wake-up, the led config would just change, so i'd have to re-establish the proper settings so not too bad.

however now Backlight Controller with LightFX won't start up at all...

thought upgrading to Hotkey 7.0026 might fix the issue, but i'm getting a 1628 failed to complete installation error when trying to install, or uninstall Hotkey software

:spinny: now i'm over here with a un-lit keyboard like some kind of animal...
    any help would be appreciated,
    thanks.

    You're missing some file.
ok, let's take it from the beginning.
Uninstall the backlight controller and the hotkey utility.
    reboot
    install just the hotkey utility
    reboot
do you get color change via the stock color changer?

i got fedup and decided to do a re install of Win 7, i installed the Hotkey driver from the original driver CD, the lights seem to be working now.

i wanted to upgrade it to v.7 so i then uninstalled Hotkey 6 and now when i try to install Hotekey 7 i get the same Installshield error: 1628 failed to complete installation

i wonder what file it could be that's missing
