I tried installing them from the nvidia site, however it told me it could find no compatible hardware once they were downloaded. Would I want to use the Verde 275.33 driver? Thank you

You dont need a modded inf if you get the 280 series.

So far none of the drivers I've tried to install have worked, should I just install the ones on the included drivers disc? -

Are you running 64 bit Windows? The link provided is for Windows 7 64 bit only. If you installed the OS yourself, you may have only loaded 32 bit.

Ah I see. Yeah, I'm running 32 bit. Sorry, first time dealing with Windows OS, always used a Mac before this so this is all kind of new to me. Thanks, I'll try that link now.

No problem, completely understand
How much RAM do you have in your machine? If you've got more than 4GB, you're missing out by not running a 64 bit operating system, as it will be physically unable to use more than 4GB RAM total in 32 bit. -
I've got 8 gigs :/ I wish I had known that you guys include the 64 bit OS, I went for the Windows student discounted one which is only 32. Theres no possibility for me to upgrade anyway is there?

Did you buy straight from Microsoft? They offer a student discount on both the 32 and 64 bit versions. You could try contacting them and see if they're willing to switch it for you.

If it is a "retail" copy of Windows 7, you should be able to use the key for the 64-bit version. AFAIK the key isn't tied into the architecture of Windows. You would need to format and reload of course. You can also find an ISO of Windows 7 HP 64-bit here: Download Windows 7 ISO (Official 32-bit and 64-bit Direct Download Links) My Digital Life
