Has anyone tried running Linux on the NP91XX series? What were the results?

My main concern at this point is how well the dedicated graphics card is handled, eg: is video out supported?

At this point I am looking at the Racer 2.0 (the NP9150), but until I can figure out what the situation is with graphics, I'm holding back on a purchase.

I have contact with Eurocom, and they told me yesterday that they have asked their R&D team what the situation is.

I haven't purchased mine yet, but I'll probably be getting a Nvidia GTX 660M.

Linux has traditionally had issues with Nvidia's switchable graphics, though there are things like the Bumblebee Project that helps with driver support. Last I heard, though, is that they stopped doing that but it's worth to check out in case I heard wrong. Besides those driver issues it should run just fine on an NP91XX.

Enduro is believed to be compatible with Linux, but we have not been able to confirm that yet.

Frankly, a lot of us resellers don't enjoy employing the "Microsoft tax" as we call it. I certainly hope that the Linux community is able to come up with an excellent work around for the Optimus switching graphics.

There's already a work around but you will need to switch between cards manually by assigning which program uses which card.

Links? I just would like to see where you got the info from. It could benefit us all. ;)

If that is true, I'm glad there is something of a solution then. I dabble in Linux myself, but I'm not heavy into it so I do like to see progress in the alternatives to Windows.
