Does linux, say linux mint, or debian, or ubuntu, or slackware, work on P chassis Clevo laptops?

What wireless card is suggested to work with linux?

    I assume SLI is a no-no, single card 770M or 780M.

How well to existing 32-bit licenses of windows install, say, duel boot, on a barebones without operating system?

All resellers Ive contacted told to me to ask online before configuring.

    :)

Linux runs great on Clevo machines.

The Killer (atheros) card works great in linux with adequate driver support. The Intel cards work nice too.

Dual boot is pretty standard, just like any other system. You can partition one drive or, better, boot from two different drives.

Arch linux ran great on my P150hm when I had it. I'd imagine *buntu and its derivatives will do fine. Debian should also work no problem.

    +1 tommytomatoe :)

I don't know how much support Linux offers for SLI (if any), but they do at least have the bumeblee project to support Optimus if you do end up with a single card setup.

Other than that, tommytomatoe seems to have covered all your questions!

It's an interesting coincidence that I was just about to post a "P1***SM Linux Compatibility Thread" when I saw this.

If my experience with the previous generation can be applied here, everything beside the fancy keyboard back light should work. (You can still turn on/off the default blue light with a keyboard short cut.) For last generation models there's a 3rd party driver to control the lights, but I'm not sure if it still works on the P1**SMs.

If you get a AMD card, Enduro works out of the box.

Is SLI/CF really needed under Linux? How heavy is your graphics workload?

I don't really need SLI; but does it work well at all as of right now with linux mint or ubuntu or similar distributions?

Most important, after I install Bumblebee to get Optimus working, will I be able to use the hdmi outputs for projectors while using the GPU and usb output for sound output (DAC) in Linux? I would imagine so. But I really don't know.

If Enduro is working out of the box, does that mean I should go with the 8970 instead of the 770? Doesn't the 8970 have more issues with drivers in general, especially with old programs or games Ill emulate on Wine?

I see no reason why you can't, but I can't be sure.

    2.
Bumblebee works fine as well, so it's not a deciding factor.
Radeons usually do OpenGL better than GeForces. The rest is handled by wine and has nothing to do with which card you're using.

I am running Linux Mint 15 on a P370EM with crosfire 7970 and all is working fine (Fingerprint Tpm Intel Wifi)
So if ati crossfire is working i dont see any reason why sli isnt working as nvidia has a better support for linux drivers.
Fingerprint isnt working out of the box you need to install couple of packages same with TPM
With a small effort you can make the keyboard to change colours to

Dual booting with SSD and windows 8 can be a bit tricky with Ubuntu and other distros specialy if you are using UEFI secure
    First install Windows then Linux
