I ordered my laptop (Sager NP2096) on August 3rd. It went into production/phase 2 the following day. Fast forward two weeks and I still don't have my laptop (still in phase 2 :|). Normally, I don't mind waiting, but I have to leave for college in 6 days. I called them multiple times before to check on the status of my order only to get vague estimates on when I'll receive my laptop. I called them today and customer service suggests that I pay for a faster shipping method... :\

Maybe you can send an email to Xoticpc and ask them what's going on with your order. Because they can't help you unless you tell them your name and your order number. Hopefully this is helpful. I personally think it is more exciting to wait, gota experience all sort of feelings in life

Welcome to the NBR forums.
Sorry to hear. I recommend you to talk to Justin@XoticPC... or live chat with him.
He will give you a more definite answer... or maybe since you are a student they would give you the faster shipping for little to nothing. -
...or you could just have it routed to your residence at school =)
-
Hey there. I'm going to college in 2 days. Imagine how I feel that my laptop is not yet here either. I have also ordered through XoticPC and they just started shipping the 8660 Friday. You should probably call Xotic for more info.
-
Keep in mind he's getting an NP2096 and not a NP8660 like a large number of us here.
I would suggest calling them up and seeing what's taking so long. Maybe they are missing a part and are unable to get it in? If mine was in phase two for that long with no explanation, I'd consider cancelling my order. -
I told them my order number every time I called them (3~4 times). I also sent an email but haven't heard back from it. I'll try contacting Justin.
-
I believe it was mentioned a few days ago on this forum that they're waiting on DVD and bluetooth parts for the 2096. I know I was told that when I ordered mine on Friday.

Just use the library computers for a few days, I am sure it is worth the waiting.......
-
Have it come to your school...but if your college is anything like mine was, keep an eye on the tracking number and be around the day it is scheduled to arrive.
-
Wow... I'm kinda in the same boat with my NP5796... I ordered a bit later than you did, but I'm still sitting at phase 2 and I need my machine by the end of the week. Even with the posted 3-7 business day period I figured it would be no problem, but now it's getting down to the end and I really need it by the end of the week before I leave. It's nice to know that calling them won't do any good... I'm really kicking myself for not putting the order in sooner.
There's a difference between the "waiting for your new machine to arrive" feeling and the "Oh crap I'm leaving for school soon and my machine hasn't even shipped yet" feeling. -
lol im also waiting since aug 1st
but i ordered with check so its still gonna take time to get to phase 2

Do you seriously think people must have a laptop for college? -

Unfortunately there was a unexpected delay with Bluetooth modules that has forced Sager with a slight delay on the 2096. Sager has since received some in stock. As with any delay we apologize for any inconvenience it causes and we are doing our best to work with Sager through these delays and get items shipped as soon as possible.

just wondering- could you request not getting the bluetooth modules? i know i would never personally use them.
-
None of the Sager resellers (or Sager itself) seems to offer the no-bluetooth option, nor do some of the non-Sager Clevo resellers, such as RJTech; however, at least on its website, Eurocom still appears to offer a no-bluetooth option. Keep in mind, I didn't check everyone, so there may be plenty more.
-
Hmm, is there a special keyboard command or switch to enable the BT
on the M570TU? It doesn't show up in DevMan or in the CP. -
I kno on the D901c it's rite under the keyboard, u could just get the laptop without it and have them send it to you. then just snap it in place yourself. I dunno how it is on the other systems tho... :-/
-
i've been waiting since july 17th... so
, and i'm already at school
it's worth the wait... trust me -
About my missing BT...
I took a look at the service manual another NBR member posted and I removed the bottom cover, it is present and accounted for but Vista doesn't see it, almost as if it isn't turned on.
I'll call the reseller tomorrow. -
Well, those who are waiting, and don't care about the bluetooth, could try calling their resellers, to ask them if they'll ship without the BT. Is there any reason why they'd refuse your request?
-
Probably because the Sager resellers get their laptops built from Sager - and Sager ships them with blue tooth included.
So if there's a delay in Bluetooth radio-things, there's a delay from Sager.
It's probably out of Xotic PC's hands. Or, more accurately, not in them. -

I'm in the same boat even though I didn't order a Sager. It's not really Xotic's fault that they haven't received the laptops yet. They can't give you what they don't have yet.
That said, I would have appreciated them being a little less coy about shipping dates. -
Ah, I see. That's most likely the case.

A very valid point, I agree with you two.
Little disappointed Xoticpc :\
