So when I turn on my new Sager NP2090 it often locks up, something like 2/3s of the time. Not that it freezes completely, but I am still able to move my mouse and press control+alt+delete to get to that one vista screen. However, nothing on the desktop will respond. I can't right click or use quicklaunch or start when it happens. It isn't just loading, I've let it stay on for an hour once before. Not sure what's going on, and it's been happening since I got it on September 8th. And my startup is just what initially comes from out of the package except for Nod32.

Specs if that matters: Duo 2.0 GHertz, Intel Robson Turbo Memory, 2 gigs of RAM.

I saw this several times in Vista. I found that if I hit FN-F7 it would "swap" the monitors and the display would start working again.
Seems to be a video driver issue...so try hitting function F7 and see if it helps!

Won't work. Function f7 lowers volume on the np2090.

If it isnt function-f7, then its another one of the function + f-key combinations. Im sure your laptop has an output for an external monitor, and one of those combinations is set to allow u to switch back and forth. If the keys themselves dont hint at it, then check your manual. Look for it and give it a shot.

If that doesnt work, you could always wipe, reformat, and reinstall. It sounds like it may be more of a software/driver issue than a hardware issue, so anything you can do to avoid RMAing it is worth it.

The correct keys for the 2090 are FN + F3. Try this and see if it helps. Also, it could be the NVIDIA driver.
