Looking For Malibal Discounts...

Later this morning, I'm going to look into placing an order with Malibal for a X-7200. The existing $100.00 discount is not enough to make this purchase a Merry Christmas present to myself. If anyone out there knows of any other ways to reduce the purchase price of one of these beasties (other than the 3% cash payment discount), please let me know.

I think you get a discount for being a member on the forums. It also depends where you buy your laptop from. I am also waiting for some better deals to pop up though.

Is there any other benefit with going with Malibal over another reseller besides the current discount?

I know this may sound shallow, but do you want to know the real reason I picked Malibal over XoticPC and the other resellers? The electroform Malibal branding on it. Yup. That's it, LOL.

I don't like the default Sager branding many of the resellers use and having no branding on it makes it look too generic and cheap, IMO. The Malibal branding is nice and classy looking. Hey, I may not like the looks of Alienwares, but that doesn't mean I don't like a little decoration here and there.

On another note, I believe XoticPC is introducing some fancier cosmetic options next year too. That may be worth looking forward to. Mythlogic already does their own branding and offers exquisite paint jobs, if you'd be interested in that. The Mythlogic versions are pretty pricy though they do adhere to a much more rigorous testing and quality control standard.

Depends on how quickly we get things moving once we're in the new location, but we'll probably be in full swing mid to late January. After that, we'll probably start doing more customization options.

 

That's hilarious since I ordered the laptop with no branding. To each his own.

Hey guys!!! I just ordered/customized my SAGER NP8180 from MALABAL.COM - which they call their VEDA P180HM!!!

All in all I am VERY pleased with how my order process went and even after having placed my order I was able to make some changes. Very friendly Customer Support by Phone and Live Chat.

As far as discounts are concerned they were giving $100 OFF for any orders over $1500, and when I asked about being a NBR member they gave me my UPS Ground Shipping - which was $59 - for FREE. I also used the Bank Wire Transfer Method and saved an additional 3% off my total order.

As far as Branding is concerned MALIBAL has some cool different color LED options for the LED logo found on the lid of this particular laptop. I changed mine from the stock Red to the Blue LED so it would match the rest of the Blue lighting it has around the keyboard. I did not want any graphic design art on the laptop itself.
My other option in laptops was going to be the ASUS G74SX-A2. If I had decided on this laptop and not the SAGER 8180 (for its Dual Graphics cards!) then I would have bought from XOTICPC.COM because they do offer that AfterBurner LED Lighting for the vents and matching colors for the entire Keyboard. Looks sexy all in Blue I say!!! But the SAGER 8180 is a better laptop - unfortunately no one does lighting on the Vents for this one like they do the ASUS G74 series.

I was very pleased with MALIBAL and I do highly recommend using them, great products and great customer service.

since were talking about discounts...ill be buying one of these laptops soon and i was wondering if any of the resellers give school discounts? on the reviews it said that a few of them do but i don't know how accurate that is...des anyone know who does give them and how much they are?

 

That's pretty funny... I didn't really think about branding when I ordered from Xotic... but then again, I'm a graphic designer by trade, and we have some incredible machines, and I already designed my lid cover... I'm not saying it's as classy as Malibals - ... to be honest, it's a drunk Leprachaun riding a dolphin and punching a Unicorn in the face, but it's going to be pretty sweet when I'm done with it (Vinyl print with reflective, gold leaf, and airbrushed effects).

I don't believe so. I seem to recall reading a thread somewhere on here where they stated that NBR discounts were no longer being offered due to low pricing, and their own forums have been down for well over a year now I think, so you would not be able to get that discount either.
