Alright, I am now just trying to decide between ordering direct from Sager or getting from XoticPCs. I have a few questions
    about XoticPCs.

On XoticPC it says that it Built on Clevo D900C / D901C. What does this mean? Will I end up with a 900c chassis instead of
a 901c depending on what they have in stock... and is there a difference?

Does the 3% discount count for credit cards?

Also, on XoticPC, they have the Arctic 5 cooling compound listed. Is this something XoticPC adds, or is this a
standard part of the Sager loadout?

Finally, how long does one of these take to put together and ship? and does a custom skin delay this?

Sorry if I appear to be asking a lot of questions. It's just I am about to dump 3k into a system that will last me another 5 years (with a potential upgrade to dual nVidia 9800 SLi in a year). I really, REALLY don't wanna f*** this up.

Its going to be my first clevo laptop as well but I ve been fallowing their status since their most famous market entry - the D900 with the go6800. There used to be very mixed reviews. Some people got overheating problems and other got indestructible systems. It looks like they ve cracked in now. I mean they ve been making the D900 chasis for over 4 years or more so they know what works and what doesnt.

Did you read the Clevo Guide?

The Clevo D900C/D901C is the same notebook... the last numeric digit is for color.... all in the Clevo Guide.

Contact the vendor for full details about discounts. :)

I believe Arctic Silver is the standard high-end custom notebook thermal compound now. :)

Pretty quick... depending on availability of the parts that you choose to configure.

Contact them to get a more accurate timeframe.

On the 3% discount; in general that discount does not apply to credit cards - e.g., it doesn't apply to credit cards at either xoticpc or pnb - if you want to make sure, though, always double-check with a particular vendor.

The reason for this is that, in general, the 3% discount represents the amount that the reseller would have had to pay to the credit card company in order to process your transaction by credit card (yup, Visa and Mastercard sure do make a killing). Thus, from the reseller's perspective, s/he ends up with the same amount of cash at the end of the day if s/he sells for, say, $1,000 if you use your Visa credit card, and $970 if you use cash (or wire transfer or check), because Visa is gonna take 3%, or $30, leaving the reseller with only $970 net after the credit card transaction clears and settles.

As to asking too many questions - don't worry about it; right now, you haven't asked enough questions, unless, of course, you've aleady done sufficient research on your own.
