    Hi all,

I recently purchased an P377SM-A from Pro-Star and i'm loving it. I highly recommend them if you are looking to make a purchase, they had my system together and shipped to me in my hands in 3 days and they were also the cheapest. Anyways after receiving my P377SM-A I was a little disapointed to find out that it didn't have an illuminated track pad but it's not that big of a deal. After doing some research though I found out that clevo made a chassis similar to the P377SM-A except that it had an illuminated track pad and an illuminated bar underneath the LCD. I've looked at the specs for the P375SM-A and I can't see any differences to it besides the trackpad and bar so I was curious is anyone on here knew where I could acquire an empty P375SM-A chassis so I could potentially do a swap with the current P377SM-A I have.
I've done a lot of research on google and haven't been able to come up with anything yet. Another thing that I want to change is the LCD I have, I've come across various other threads in here that have talked and posted links but i'm not quite sure which serial number is the correct one. I am looking to purchase a 120hz glossy LCD to replace the matte 60hz that came with this one. Unfortunately Pro-Star didn't have the option and the only site that did would have charged me $1000 more for the same model I bought and taken a month longer to get the laptop to me. Is anyone in this thread familiar with where I can order such parts? or any idea what company I might be able to contact to buy from? I'd Really appreciate your help.

If anyone knows a reason why my system wouldn't be compatible in a P375SM-A Chassis please share.

    My Specs:
    4910MQ
    16GB 1600mhz Kingston Hyper X DDR3
    2x 500GB Samsung 840 EVO mSata in Raid 0
    2x GTX980m 16GB GDDR5
    6x Max. Blu-Ray Writer/Reade
    Bigfoot killer wireless
Additional copper heatsink (W/E that means, Can someone clarify this for me not every site had this option)
    Windows 7 Pro x64

So long as it has the connector a new cable and a 120hz display would fit.

You can also try overclocking your existing display, you could get 85 - 100hz out of it.

    Hey there Dadycupcakes,

Just a forewarning: Taking these types of DIY projects upon yourself poses the potential of voiding your warranty. We don't have a strict policy against overclocking your display, specifically, but replacing part of the chassis would definitely be a red flag if the system ever had to come in for service.

If you want to keep the warranty see if prostar would be nice enough to fit the parts for you for not too much if you source them :)

The screen you want is the LP173WF2-TPB1 and it is 120Hz, 72% NTSC Gamut, Matte. There is one glossy variant of the LP173WF2 models and three matte variants, but the glossy is almost impossible to find. All four are discontinued.

^ They've all been discontinued since 2011 at the latest. My 2013 august notebook purchase came with a 2010 screen. Ironically the 2010 model is the one most available.
