    Hi all,

I'm looking to downsize my trusty Asus G73 to something in the 12-14" range.

The G73 is fully functional, and I upped the GPU to a Radeon 7970m from the previous 5870 or whatever it was.

Other than SSD's, it's totally stock. I believe the 7970m I purchased has a Clevo BIOS, I'm not sure what the implications are in having it work in another system.

I guess the key thing is finding a laptop with a system board, but no GPU pre-installed, or at least something ty I can remove and add the 7970m into.

Do you guys have thoughts? My G73 is getting old and creaky, although it runs fine I would love to pack the important bits into a new machine.

    Thanks!

So you're looking for a 12-14" which will support your 7970M right? There were no Sager models which did, the smallest would be 15.6" and the last gen models like the NP9150

Yes the smallest machines with an MXM slot are 15.6" regardless of make.

A 15" would be fine too I suppose. I'll look into this model, thank you for your help.

The EM was one of the thinnest 15.6" machines around too so may be your best option.
