    Looking to finally play through GTA4. What's the current state of GTA4 on 7970M?

    Are there still under utilization issues in this game with a P150 with 7970m? Any tips on getting the best performance in this game with this card?

    Also, assuming there isn't much of a problem with performance in this game anymore, what graphics mods should I use that won't drop the frame rate too much with this card?

    Plays fine for me, average around 40+- with IcEnhancer mod. It's heavily CPU bound and still poorly optimized so I wouldn't expect great performance out of it with anything, it's even rough on my i7-3770K.

    You have the same CPU as I do, so if it's averaging 40 for you, that sounds good to me. Do you get many drops below 30?

    Low 30's is really about as low as it gets unless you have the entire SWAT team on your , it stays pretty steady no matter what you're doing. Sitting out in the middle of the harbor with nothing around me still doesn't net me much more than 50fps, crap console port ftl.

    GTA IV PC is terribly optimized. All it wants is CPU clock speed and little of anything else.

    Yeah, I think that had something to do with it being poorly ported.
