So today I will be ordering to P150HM from Malibal. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for sleeves, bags or coolers. So far this is what Ive found...
16 inch sleeve (not sure if it will fit, are these things bulky?)
Amazon.com: Case Logic VLS-116 16-Inch Laptop Sleeve (Black): Electronics
Laptop bookbag
Amazon.com: Targus Groove Backpack Case Designed for 16" Inch Laptops CVR600 (Black): Electronics
Cooling Pad
Amazon.com: Cooler Master Notepal X2 Notebook Cooler R9-NBC-4WAK-GP: Electronics
Any other suggestions?

I've heard good things about the Targus backpacks. I've got a 15" backpack for my NP8150 and it fits great. I've had that backpack all through highschool and college (it's almost 10 yrs old now)
Go for it!
I think coolers are over-rated (just my opinion). My Sager has a GTX460m and it caps out at 60C (which is cool for a GPU) click on the spoiler to see the full image (I don't want to strech someones screen out if they don't run a high res.
Because you are in Costa Rica, I would suggest you get the 3 yr warranty for 150.00 as added peice of mind. Humidity and electronics don't always play nice. -
I'm looking at ordering the same laptop today as well, do you mind if I piggy-back and ask some questions from the crowd?
Black-Friday deal for the cheap 6970. In my mind the 6990 had been the way to go, near 580m performance for a lot less money....but today you could go down one level to the 6970 and save $145 compared to the 6990. Notebookcheck rates them at 62% versus 79% comparatively. Not sure.
I'm also looking at buying my own separate SSD, looking at the Crucial M4s. Right now I'm only using about 100Gb for my OS and applications on my old laptop...so there's $175 in savings in going with a 128Gb unit as opposed to a 256....but the 256 is also a little faster in the write specs (260Mb/s as opposed to 175). Probably like the difference between the video cards, you might see it in a benchmark, but is it worth it when it actually comes down to laying out cash?
Any thoughts or suggestions? -
SSD's will always improve in future (speed / performance vs. cost). If it was me I would throw as much money as I could at the items that are hardest to upgrade down the line... that would be the GPU and CPU.
Memory / HDD / Wireless are the easiest to upgrade in my book, and the reduced cost of the 6970 / 6990 are phenomenal. The only thing that worries me is the ATI drivers (personal preference and past history with ATI) but I've heard they have gotten a lot better since being taken over by AMD.
To me the GPU upgrade is a no brainer. If you can, get the 6970/6990 and use the black friday coupon of 100 off 1500 or more. Practically makes it free.
In the end don't over think the SSD. As long as it is SATA III you will have great speed.
Personally I just bought the NP8150 used for 800.00 this week and i love it. Got the remaining warranty and everything. I work full time in IT, so repairs and upgrades come naturally to me.... but then again buying new is also nice. -
Just ordered it
But now I'm broke
haha it's all good. Can't wait to get that thing.

What did you end up ordering out of curiosity? I'd love to see your spec sheet =0

Ordered mine too. Couldn't resist the 6990, even though it wasn't the same deal as the 6970.

Is the 6990 a huge difference?
-
-
did you guys get the dead/pixel warranty? i am going to order during christmas deals...
-
order now mrblings
imaculate:6990M is about 15-23% faster depending on the game. its just an overclocked or all pipelines enabled version. Right now with the deals $145 jump is not justified from 6970 to 6990. I ordered the 6970M few hours ago from malibal -

It's one of those things that if you continually wait for the next best thing, you'll never actually have any of them -
He explained to me like you did here! Great Customer Serivce! Hope i get my laptop in a perfect condition like i asked for!
-
Damn it seems like everyone is ordering from Malibal. They must be getting a lot of business this black friday. Good for them.
-
Hehe, I don't think anybody here worries about integrated graphics.
-
I was chatting with their live support while placing my order, they were pretty busy indeed. Still helpful, but they were dealing with several people like me at once. I'm just disappointed I couldn't go pick it up in person, I'm going to be in Vegas to run the marathon next weekend, but that would be a rush build - and then they'd have to charge me NV sales tax - which would cost the same as shipping.
-
did someone say integrated graphics??? lol
-
Once they finish the assembly of the machines, does anyone have an idea of how long the typical UPS Ground shipping is?
-
UPS Ground takes about 3-4 days on average.
