Yes. After that install the new drivers and you`re set!

I'm running Vista 32 w/ SP1 and I'm not having any problems with it. I'm using the stock drivers, haven't tried to OC at all. I consistently get 9100+ in 3dmark06. Dunno if you've fixed your problem but something tells me if two OS's are giving you the same score maybe it's hardware...
-
Hkman what bios version is your laptop using? Boot it up F2 and it will say 1.00.0X.
-
ok will do wait a sec...
-
Its 1.00.07
I uninstaled the drivers in safe mode, and even used Driver sweeper on them. DO i install the drivers in safe mode also or waht? -
Give this a try, I'm using the 169.44 and have tested several other drivers now that all work perfectly since I update from 1.00.07
1.00.08 is the most recent version. Here is the link to the file that was provided to me by Pro star.
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OVERCLOCK with this bios update and if you downclock the card you will have to restart it to get it back to stock settings.
The file 579bv08.iso is the image of a bootable disk with all the files for updating the system BIOS.
Burn the 579bv08.iso to a CDR or CDRW disc.
Please make sure that the computer is on AC power.
Use the disc to boot the computer to flash the system BIOS.
After the system bios flashed, please load the default settings in the CMOS setup. -
ok
i install the drivers in SF or normal?
at ur sig. shouldnt it read "2/14/2008 expected", not "12/14/2008 expected " -
Drivers don't need to be installed in safe mode...
-
omg
im soooo stupid
I changed my mode to balanced, and the correct speeds were shown. in HP, they are underclocked. WTF???? -
dude i dont know what is the problem. 2 min ago, i changed teh mode to balanced, correct clocked were shown (500/799). Now, there back to 200/100.
-
it's not powermizer?
-
I modded the INF to include the powermizer at max.
no matter what driver, BIOS etc, the card is at full speed at the beggining , but then after a few minutes underclocks itself -
even if you use ATI-Tool ? and turn on 3dview ?
and watch the clocks? it still goes down? -
Ati tool says this
" The kernel mode driver does not seem to be running. A device driver is required for communication with ur vide ohardware"
WHen i turn on 3d view, the correct clocks are showing -
so i turn off 3dview, close ATi tool, and clocks go back to drop to 275/300, then 200/100. SO i always have to have 3d view on?
-
no lol. thats normal bud.
when there is no 3d application running your clocks will always be low like that.
that's a laptop for ya.
my m1710 was 100/100 200/300 when in normal mode. then I open up ati-tool and 3dmode to simulate gaming with card. and it goes to 650/750
looks like thats what powermiezer is doing.
if you turn off powermiezer it will work full clocks 100% of the time. -
how to turn off?
-
go into Nvidia Cntrol panel.
then powermieser settings.
then turn off powermeizer.
or install notebook hardware control and there is an option in there for that.
then even on batteries you can pretty much game or watch movies at full video strength. -
IT says "cannot find NHC driver" Is it because i have vista 64?
-
ya man.
vista sucks and add x64 on it. and it UBER sux. cuz so many good drivers and programs aren't available for it. why use it? really...
alot
Try Xp Server 2003 you can even use 32bit programs and drivers and guess what... you can have 4gb of ram with it too.
I will absolutely positively ONLY use XP pro or 2003 server.
I won't use Vista until i XP is like windows 3.1. -
The reason i Use x64 is some apps dont support multi-core unless its x64. I wish Clevo had Xp x64 support drivers, but we cant have the best of both worlds can we?
-
x64 sux
only because of the gap between stuff like this.
but what you should seriously do my friend. is dual boot on 1 hdd.
OK.
1 XP PRO for all your pure gaming performacnce with good drivers support and applications. plus you loose no fps because of vista B.S.
then you can have your vista x64 for whatever it is you need it for the 2 or so applications that you need ...
that's the Logical thing to do.
I personally would just install XP PRO and be done with it. -
the apps i was talking aobut were emulators (GC, PS2 etc). Yeah, i think i will dual boot.
-
lol
i thought they were Uber important dual core applications to do with your job that you couldn't live without -
they are...
-
so, is it possible to have Atitool running in Bckgrnd and still do my normal stuff w/o cpu hinderance? Im guessing not...
-
you don't need ati tool running bud.
ati tool tells you that when you need 3d your card boots into higher clocks.
and if your saying that your card is not.
format c:/s
install XP PRO and douche vista. -
I like vista!..Drivers seem to be getting much better...personally unless you really NEED thos extra 2-5 fps, stick with vista x64 cuz its real fast!
-
it's more than that. programs don't run on it and it's Vista. too much DRM TPM crap. I hate HDCP and DRM.
I may go to vista in the future when it's hacked to pieces and so hacked that the DRM for all drivers is destroyed. and os part open-source.
You know that with DRM-DRIVERS microsoft can render a driver that you install and all attributes to it no allowed.. and then it won't work.
Also vista can potentially render hardware useless unless it passes the DRM/HDCP and all pieces of hardware won't work unless it passes this crud in the future.
there is tons of articles about DRM and vista and it's the the New World Order for Operating systems.
I don't want to have any part of it. I would go linux or OSX which I am typing on right now. on my PC that I hackintoshed together. because I hate microsoft.
Windows XP suits me for my notebook but Vista can go to hell. IMO of course. -
Some people hate and some people like it...I like it oh well. Opinions...opinions.
-
agreed
each to their own -
naticus are u running x64?
-
im not running it on my clevo..no. But i used to have it on my xt5000t and it ran BEAUTIFULLY! I loved it, the only issued i had throughout the 6months i used it was that iTunes wouldnt work with it . I would say stick to vista 64 and enjoy the speed, dual booting is nice but i mean unless you HAVE to have another OS, why even bother?! Just a thought oh well.
-
because applications don't work for him.
and it sux.
why don't you run it on your clevo> -
yea, ill probably make a 40GB vista partition, 40GB XP, 100 GB data, and leave 20GB free of i want to put OS X or ubuntu. THe only time ill us vista is to play super smash bros melee...
-
right on mate.
