so, i decided to see what my 3d max score on my new sager and it is ridiculously lower than it should, i can run any game fine except for left 4 dead, which stutters for some reason when i try running it on settings other np8662 owners run it. does anybody know the problem, and yes i do have the latest drivers

GTX 170M was the "real" name of the GTX 260M before Nvidia decided to drop it.

when my score dropped from 10,000 to 3000 it was a fried mother board in my m15x.

as mentioned above have you got battery set to high performance and what are your temperatures.

    1. Check to make sure your in high performance mode.

    2. Update nvidia Drivers again and do it propely with a full uninstall - the newest drivers from nvidia.com really are quite good - avoid using modded drivers until you get this all figured out.

    3. What do you have running in the backround? Turn it off.

    4. Get CPU-Z and GPU-Z and make sure your hardware is going up to full speed.

Wasn't there an issue a while back where video cards, even on high performance mode weren't getting up to full speed for some reason? There was some fiix for it but I can't remember...

Otherwise maybe a bunk system, your GPU should be showing as GTX 260m not GTX170 so that's wierd too.....

No all the GTX 260's show as a 170 so that's not the problem

    3. What do you have running in the backround? Turn it off.
    nothing on in the background

    4. Get CPU-Z and GPU-Z and make sure your hardware is going up to full speed.
    I'll try that
it's weird i'm what people would call computer literate so i know about most of these things and i can't seem to find the problem.
i can run crysis on very high but have a problem maxing out l4d

65c is dangerous especially for long periods of time.
61-62c while virus scan or defragging is ok but while gaming the fans should be on full so 54-55c is the max it should be.
what is your ambient room temperature. that could have a lot to do with it.

take a look at the cooling centre HERE

ambient room temp around 72-76f not hot at all
and i looked at that before and i cant afford a fan, i doubt it's the temp causing it though

Can anyone tell me why my CPU score if rleally low? Im getting a 2332 for CPU while everything else if around 4000.

I did underclock a bit, so i understand it should lower my speed slightly, but im getting almost 0-1 fps for the cpu test.

Your CPU is fine, I'd suspect it's your driver and difficulty with windows 7. It's almost as if your GPU is stock in 3d mode, which is something like 380 mhz core speed. The latest official driver just came out, it's in the gaming forums, 186.42, and supports Windows 7.

It is stuck low 3d mode. Those are the same clocks as my 9800m gt's 3d mode. I am having the same problem, which I think is due to the power adapter. I am getting a higher one (180w vs the 120w i have currently).
