I'd say your CPU was holding you back.

My thoughts exactly....that and having only 2 gigs of memory.

Which Quad Core can I upgrade to?

Without making my new gaming machine a coaster for the morning Dunkin Donuts coffee.

q6600 200 dollars if you search around
q6700 200 dollars at one point but no more, back to 270 dollars.

I think I'll go with the Q6600...but on the Clevo web site, it states "For Quad Core Support you need a specific version", version of what? Mobo? BIOS?

Why does CPUZ under the mainboard tab call the model 900C Revision D and not model 901C as it is the 901C?

Also, anyone else have issues with the card reader? It will read a 2 gig Sony Memory Stick PRO DUO and a 1 gig SD but not an 8 gig or 16 gig SD card....

I was wondering, can the Q9450 fit/work without causing an issue?

You will need a BIOS update and it hasn't be released yet. There are some ppl in forum who did that and works though.

Zenica, Sager is still working on the "bugs" , but other resellers have started offering them. So it`s a matter of time until we`ll see them in Sagers.

Worked for me, too. I was using Vista 64 on a ASUS C90S with 8600m GT though.
My 9262 will finally arrive on monday and I will try it again on this laptop as soon as I get it.

The graphics scores look pretty low to me. I get 6297/6634, but I'm using a different CPU and running XP. You might want to search this board for the results of others that are using your configuration.

As for turning off background programs... I turn off AV and internet wireless, and I have disabled the app-key program which seems to be an fps killer.

Forget Vantage for now... there are too few Vantage scores to make comparisons with.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread that someone with a novatech x80r (570ru/np5793) had a hitherto unknown bios version 1.00.09b. I queried this with novatech and got this response:
So nothing overclock/improvements wise unfortunately :-(

You can use drivers, firmware, BIOS, etc.. from Sager (or any other Clevo vendor) for any other Clevo notebook (of the same model of course).

    Sager 579x = Clevo M570RU
    Sager 926x = Clevo D901C
    ..etc.. (same notebooks, different branding)

    Yes, you can.
For example, the fan firmware, originally released by Clevo at Sager`s request is now used in all systems.

    -Currently, i'm using Clevo's 176.02(WHQL) drivers
    -No CPU OC
-GPU oced via modded vBIOS 600/1500/950 (BIOS ver - 62.92.23.00.14)

    3DMark06 - 8880!!!  :(  :confused2:

    Pls someone help me! :(

P.S. - i close almost all the unnecessary programs prior to launching the tests and regularly clean(registry, etc.), and defrag my system but still!! :(

Try using the drivers 176.02. They came stock with the 9800M GT and work very well with 3DMark06. Also, 177.79 work well too. I get just under 14,000 with those and 13,700ish with other drivers. Mind you, it is a different rig, but very similar card.

I just noticed the above poster using the drivers I mentioned. Even have an overclocked video card... interesting...

Earlier i tried 177.79, but they used to downclock during gaming! :(

I hope there ain't no hardware probs!? :(

    sophail99,

We have almost the exact same unit, except you have a much faster hard drive. My scores are in my sig, and there is no overclocking or turning off any processes. So I would think you would get 9200 plus running Vista, unless something else is going on. Maybe the overclock of your video card is causing the low score? I really don’t see the need to overclock the video card, seems a CPU overclock for overall performance might be ok. But even then, why overclock something that is going to bring minimal gain anyway?
If you want a copy of my Vista and WinXP test to compare to, I can send you those in a PM, just let me know?

Yea! When i had installed Vista Ultimate on my new system, everything stock it gave a score of 9500 on 3D Mark06!!!

Since then i've maintained my system perfectly till date! dunno why is it happening!?

I guess i should format my HDD and do a fresh install of vista x64!!
but its only been 4 months since i got my hands on this notebook!!?

and yea, if u can send over ur scores via PM! it would be really nice of u! :)

I guess a fresh install is the only option i have got left now!

Thanks kobe_24 for having me realize that! :) :D
