    Hi Everyone,

Sorry if that has been asked before (I'm sure it probably has...) but the search function doesn't really help with finding individual posts on the matter).
Anyway to put it simply, the volume during Blu-Ray playback on my P370EM using any software is incredibly low. All other media sounds fine, and I've found various options in Windows 7 and PowerDVD(Loudness Equalisation, Dynamic Range) which raise the volume, but I don't like artificially manipulating the dynamic range of the audio stream just to increase volume.
I was planning on buying a USB sound card (the Asus Xonar U3) as this is quite cheap and also contains a headphone amp(good for my PC360's) to see if it would help with this.
I assume this is the same for everyone else who owns this laptop, so any advice would be great...

Unless anyone has a fix for this, I've always had this problem even with standard DVD's. Its been much lower in volume compared to other files on my computer like .mkv or anything. Have never found a fix for it.

On some software players (Power DVD Totalmedia theater etc.) on sound settings choose noise environment that does the trick for me

Most are pretty happy with the Xonar U3 USB sound cards. I haven't tested one on a unit here but I hear only good things about them. If it's not a driver or configuration issue, I'm not sure what would cause this either.

I have tried that option, and it does make it louder(still not loud enough though). However it's also messing with the dynamic range so whilst it makes the audio louder it also makes it sound worse. Because PowerDVD is installed I noticed I can play Blu-Ray using Media Player Classic, and in that I can choose to boost the volume, but that then makes everything that's not Blu-Ray excessively loud...
