    Hi,
    I have 150SM. GPU 780M.

Gpu core clock is stuck at 324 MH while playing games: Diablo 3, Metro.

    It causes low performance.

    What i have tried:
    - new install of windows
    - swapping drivers

Could someone help me get the clock back to normal. I have everything set to maximize the performance.

Hi. Make sure your notebook is set to High Performance instead of Energy Saving. If that doesnt work, you can try to force the correct P-State with nv inspector ( which you can download here.)

Oh, I just remembered. This once happend to me too, when I flashed a very popular MSI VBIOS to my 680M. My card would just run at 324 Mhz no matter what. So I flashed it back to a proper Clevo one and everything was fine again. Maybe you also flashed a VBIOS, or if not, your card came with the wrong one. Check out TechInferno forums, they have loads of 780M VBIOS's. You need to sign up and post 5 times for that though.

I have my laptop for 3 months and i always play with hwinfo and afterburner to check temps clocks etc. I didnt flash the card. The problem started happening from few days. Because of the low clock the temps are also lower - max 70. I usualy had 85c max with core clock 849. I dont want to flash because i will lose warranty. Is it possible that my gpu is dieing?

Weird, really. Did the problem start just like that, or after a software update? If you did not change anything, the problem could be that your GPU was overheating... but 85°C is ok, just a little on the high side. Even then the clocks should start normally and downclock during the game, but if I read correctly the game already starts in 324 Mhz.

Did you try applying a slight OC on both Core and Memory? Did you try rolling back to older drivers, both Nvidia and Intel?

If you're still under warranty and don't need the notebook for work I would send it in to have it checked.

I will try OC. I tried changing nvida drivers. I didnt try intel.
The game starts right with 324 mhz.
Probably i will send it if yours ideas wil not help.

Looks like it started, crashed and then reset to emergency clocks, but can you screenshot GPU-Z please.

Gpu-z screen. It seems ok. So the problem is msi afterburner?

Now i noticed that when i rotate mouse in game object start to tear. When i stay in one place everything is displayed correctly.

Edit 1. Tearing stops when i turn on vsync.

Ha yeah, Vsync fixes screen tearing but comes at the cost of a slight input delay.
Maybe your Afterburner is outdated? Try this one: MSI Afterburner 3.0.0 Beta 17 Download

Theafterburner beta3.0.0 beta 17 also shows 324mhz. It was 849 mhz at the begiining. I was playing diablo 3. And right after i quited the game it went to 324mhz. However gpuz does show 849 mhz. However when i quit a game gpuz crashes.

I saw someone was recommending you try rolling back the drivers- when you updated drivers did you install the chipset driver first? Did you do a clean install of them?

Mine is also stuck at 324Mhz on Afterburner, but it seems to be normal, if u look at 3d Mark 11 for example all 780m benches show 324MHz. And yet, I scored 8181, so its obviously running at 849Mhz

Yes. You are right. Now mine is constantly runing at 849 mhz until i quit a game (constant 324mhz). However when i restart the afterburner (the newest one) it shows 849 again. So like You said it is nothing to worry about.

Thanks all guys for help. It is good to know i can count on You :)
