I have the Sager 5796 with 4 gbs ram ddr3 1066mhz x9100 9800m gt 200gb 7200rpm and 2gb turbo memory and i was just wondering everything on the indexing score is 5.7 or above but my ram is only 5.1 which makes no sense because isn't it supposed to be the best memory for laptops now a days?
Very confused any help is appreciated

You really can't put too much stock into the Windows Experience indexing scores. It's not very objective.
That said... Windows is measuring against all possible RAM types, not just laptop RAM. Desktop RAM will still run potentially faster, and that would reflect the top (5.9) of the WEI curve. 5.1 is just fine, and doesn't reflect a problem at all. -
What operating system are you using
-
vista ultimate
and i just wanted to see what other 5796 onwers score was i thought it was rele low especially for ddr3 no matter laptop or desktop -
I have the exact same WEI scores.
I used to have the T9400 but today put in my X9100 and it boosted my memory score from 5.2 to 5.3
CPU 5.9 (I oc'd the CPU)
RAM 5.3
GPU (both) 5.9
HDD 5.6 -
well my processor is only a 5.8 and my indexing score is only a 5.1 for ram which is very odd
-
the WEI should not be trusted... or taken seriously.
do a PCMark test. -

@Friar Tuck
you know whats strange? wei gives ddr2 800 a 5.9 score! so what do you mean by the top desktop ram being 5.9? im confused but anyway i agree with gophn's comment about wei being unreliable
actually i remember reading on another forum that ddr2 800 is faster than ddr3 1066 (something to do with latency?)but im not sure and apparantly ddr3 needs to be at least 1333 to be effective BUT i just read this on a forum and so dont take this as fact -
The WEI scores isnt accurate at all, run SiS Sandra or PCmark05
-
3DMark06 gave me 9700±
BUT
Each time I run it, they give different scores...and the range is 300±
That, for me, makes them, as reliable as the WEI. -
If you have programs running the background, it could tax resources causing varible results.
You cant expect it to give you an exact score everytime. -

argh.. microsoft and their WEI bs have been confusing so many people.. why don't they just remove this 'helpful' tool from their systems to REALLY benefit users.. their scores are based on an 'analysis', based on what they think is good (God knows what they think is good!), which is highly inaccurate, i must say..
lets just go fill in feedback forms for microsoft to tell them that WEI isn't at all useful with all the other benchmarking tools that is so readily available to us..
oh, can we sticky something bout this WEI thing.. so it doesn't freak out new owners who turn on their computers and see a disappointing 5.X out of 10.. -
You're not the first person to get the two confused.
Here are links to the PCMark programs:

I have the same issue with my brand new M570TU as per sig
Processor:5.4
Memory: 5.0
Graphics:5.9
Gaming Graphics:5.8
Primary Hard Disk:5.4
Ram is supposed to be DDR3 1066Mhz
My desktop running DDR2 at 800Mhz gets 5.9 on the RAM
Actually gets 5.9 on everything which makes sense as it's a [email protected] (yep RAM is running at 800Mhz - not OC'd RAM) and an ATI 4870 EXCEPT the Primary Hard Disk gets 5.4 (it's a Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s)
So that HD gets the same score on my desktop as my 500GB 5400RPM Samsung HM500LI Spinpoint M6.
Also my desktop 4870 video card whch is about twice the oomph of the 9800M GT on my lappie gets 5.9 to 5.8 - 0.1 difference for about a 50% gain???
I would really like to know what the rationale is behind some of the WEI scores.
