I know this is not very new but I haven't heard much about it and it seems very nice. Does anyone can say something about it? What I already know is that it is a software that controls which gpu is used kind of like Optimus and Enduro but it works regardless to which gpu the output it is connected to, in Clevo case the igpu (what is supposedly causing the low 7970 usage issue), also it was Origin exclusive at launch. So when will it be available for everyone? Does the 680 take advantage of this since it doesnt suffer from the utilization issues? What about the other featres Virtual Vsync kind of the Adapive Vsync from nVidia and the HyperFormance which I don't know its counter part from nVidia or AMD. Cheers
In the case you haven't heard about it: Lucidlogix with the multi gpu solution

I was trying to find it the other day, found out that each copy of the MVP requires a licence to install, seems like it's only provided when you purchase EM series from Origin. It might also help with the GTX680M since hyperFormance allows the iGPU to work like fake Sli when active, running on dGPU and at the same time also utilizes the iGPU.

Nice I didn't know about the fake sli, seems cool... I just wonder why it is not being commented at all on the forum it should solve the 7970 issue also. Where are the other system builder? Sager, Myth c'mom guys dive into it!

We have no specific comment about what you are commenting on. No idea what so ever. at all.. one bit

Maingear has released some MSI barbones with the same software (Lucid Virtu) as Origin PC and it seems very promissing. Check out this review ( Review Maingear Nomad 15 Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews ) specially the Game Performance where they talk about the software and what it did to the scores and fps!!! It is still a new tech so they say it has room for improvement but it is indeed amazing. Cheers
When will the whole comunity be able to take advantage of this tech, Myth, Sager and others? -
so when do you think you may be able to know what to comment?
And don't come up with the usual "very soon now"...
-
hmmm....maybe its a nextgen clevo barebone / nextgen gpu standard feature to do that hybrid sli/crossfire? that would sure be awesomnest!

No it is being usedon actual Clevo GPU models by Origin... And as I understand it is not restrict to actual hardware.... So no need to wait for the next reresh, they can release it now as some have done....
-
You just need a license, but they don't sell to consumers. Have to wait for Sager/Schenken etc to make a deal
-
so they would sell a barebone together with the software license for lucid virtu? as if ud purchase a machine with windows or what?

It's exclusive for some time. It'll go live when they feel like it, I've sent them a mail.
Maybe I can get it for free if I ask more lol -
Lucid's tech has been around for a while. Weirdly, this was sold on desktop motherboards first. Who knows why they thought desktops need better efficiency between IGP and DGP. Whatever, but point is, a barebone laptop still is far closer to a complete computer than just a slab of silicon that is a desktop motherboard.
This exclusive deal with Origin for a while was nothing more than license. It's not like Origin laptops are any different than ours, other than the obnoxiously high price and ridiculously stupid marketing. -
well if its just about software and license it shouldnt take long for a cracked version to be available
-
-
lol?
