I had been thinking about getting a nice laptop backpack for my Sager NP5793. Today however, I just spotted something that had been in my room for years but I had forgotten all about!

I got this a while back to use as a school bag, but since it's more designed for laptops, it didn't really hold all my notebooks very well. I decided to take a look at it, and it fits the Clevo m570ru beautifully. AND it's black and orange! Kinda just made my day. If anyone's looking around for a bag, I can't really tell how great this thing is in terms of quality until I use it some more, but putting it on my back with the notebook inside was WAY more comfortable and manageable than the free shoulder case. Just putting that out there.

Do they come in black/silver?

sweet! quite a lucky find... the black and orange seems just the icing on the cake!

Hows the padding on the bottom of the backpack?
I noticed that most non-notebook backpacks have a little to no padding (for shock absorbing) for notebooks. So it can damage the notebook if you put down your backpack carelessly. -
Exactly, how's the padding? I dented a Dell 1501 because I used a similar bagpack, without cushioning on the bottom .
Burned the witch later. -

If it doesn't have cushion, then it might not be a very bright idea.
-
If it does not have cushions, I would suggest to use a good sleeve for the notebook.
-
Or another one, the 5793 is pretty have compared to most 17 inch laptops and the sides are the weakes points togethere with the corners.
-
That's a good point. There isn't a whole lot of padding at the bottom of the bag, but the notebook pocket does cut short a little bit before the end of the bag itself. So, there's essentially a little bit of distance beween where the notebook sits and the true bottom of the bag. it doesn't offer a huge amount of protection, but the computer wouldn't absorb the full impact of the blow if you were to say, accidentally drop it.
-
Exactly. And that means it relies on the corners for support,so it's stretching out the bag in 2 points, thus slowly tearing it.
It's a high performance system,it deserves a high quality carry case or bag. -

Can't you just put a towel in your bag for extra protection?
It sounds like a redneck idea but my girlfriend has done this and she's been using it like this for nearly seven years now and it seems to work quite well.
A good sleeve would be better though I guess. -
I could do either one of those things. I could also just...not drop it lol
-
and don't forget this when you go out:

Ok, thats it! Just get a frikin Pelican case!
-
I got my briefcase style bag from a friend at work. It's got a lot of padding and straps to secure the notebook. I can sling it around haphazardly and the notebook never moves, not that I do that very often. I don't know if I'd feel confident in putting the laptop in an unpadded backpack. Honest to goodness laptop cases aren't that expensive. If you spend thousands on the system it's probably worth it to spend a little for a good protective case to keep it in.
-
yeh mate just dont do what i did with my lappy. i accidently dropped it on the floor in my laptop bag and now ive got a big dent on the right side speaker sighh
-
Can't go wrong with this case. Room for expansion!!
Then get one of these and you are set!
Lucky coincidence
