Could anyone please post screenshots of their Sager 5797 (Clevo M570) screens, and indicate the resolution? Its very hard to shop for these because they are generally custom ordered online.

Reviews or opinions about these screens would also be appreciated. :)

You're making too many topics based around the same subject mang (I count nine (!) so far). Anyway, I'm not to sure how well camera pics of an LCD screen will help you determine it's quality.

I recommend that you go into the Sager 5797 Owner's thread, and ask how pleased others are with the quality of their notebook screens.

I'm debating whether to get a 17" laptop with WUXGA resolution, mainly because I am concerned about websites looking too tiny in their 1024 x 768 sizes... Is there a way to address this that doesnt require the user to adjust something at every site visited? For example, is it possible to just set the browser (IE or FF) to a slight zoom and it will always surf that way? If so, does it look strange?

    Well, you can zoom.

I believe Opera did this better than IE (zooming the background pic too).

There is also the DPI - or PPI technically speaking - so it should be OK.

Whether WUXGA is "too tiny" or not is subjective and depends on the eyes of the reader. Both of my laptops have 17" 1920x1200 screens and I wouldn't want anything less. Then again, I have very strong glasses.

Heck, my old Dell laptop was a 15.4" 1920x1200. I used that for a year. I had no complaints.

You can either up your DPI or for firefox there is an add on called no squint, which will keep all sites at a perminant zoom like you are looking for.

The firefox standard zoom feature remembers the setting for each website you visit, so I have a few websites set to zoom, but most at native size. If you want everything zoomed, you can use the addon as mentioned by Fire Snake.

Stick with the higher resolution screen, never know when you would need it. I have no issue surfing within my 1920x1200, can always enlarge the font.

    cheers ...

To all users who helped me out in this really difficult decision making process about whether to get WSXGA+ or WUXGA for a new 17" Clevo M570, I SAY THANK YOU.

I finally placed my order today and decided to join the ranks of those who use WUXGA on 17". I look forward to using it, adjusting to it gracefully, and LOVING IT! This is a huge change for me. Going from Matte 15" WSXGA+ to Glossy 17" WUXGA! Whoohoo! :)

Oh and if anything is ever too small, I still have my external 22". :)
