    I have a Hypersonic-PC Aviator CX7, which is a re-branded Clevo M570A.

My FN+F10 function doesn't seem to be working, so I can not turn on the notebook's built-in camera.

I wanted to know if anyone else has ever had this problem, and/or now how to fix it.

I have Google searched over and over again, but can't seem to find any solution that fixes the problem. One solution I read suggested installing and uninstalling the camera drivers, but that hasn't done anything. I'm almost positive that it must be a hardware issue, since FN+F10 doesn't do anything. It does not beep, and it does not turn the camera LED on either.

Any information anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

I believe the Aviator CX7 is a rebranded M570U... which uses Core Duo and Core 2 Duos.

    M570A uses Pentium M processors.

In any case, the camera can be disabled in the BIOS too i think, check that.

    For XP and Vista:
and have you looked at the camera's device properties in the Device Manager.
    - you might have to uninstall it and let Windows re-detect it (have your drivers ready to install when Windows ask for its drivers)

    For Vista:
make sure you disable the UAC (User Account Control), to see if the camera works now.

Thank you for the welcome. :)

The Aviator CX7 Duo is the M570U. I have the Pentium M variant.

I have checked the BIOS, and can't find anything that would be related to the camera.

There aren't any device properties for the camera in the Device Manager. I chalked it up to not being able to power it on using FN+F10. Would this assumption be wrong?

the camera does toggle through the keyboard.

its very rare to see the toggle malfunction or become faulty.

In the Device Manager, the camera is usually under "Imaging Devices"
    - right click on it and choose Uninstall
    - then restart the PC, Windows should detect it again and re-configure it.

I'm not seeing "Imaging Devices" in the Device Manager.

I'm pretty sure my problem is that FN+F10 does not toggle the camera on and off. On the M570A, there is a display below the touchpad. When you toggle the camera on, there is supposed to be an LED that comes on and lights up a camera icon. This does not happen.
