    Hello folks
Today I tried to turn on my M570RU with a universal AC power plug setted to 15v (it has selector of 6v, 7.5v,9v,12v,13.5v and 15v) and it has 3800MA maximum.

I know I am an idiot but my AC power cord was used for another lappy.

    That's facts:

Battery IN. At 0% (discharged). Putted the connector on, without pushing power button I star smelling something burnt..2 sec in total..I putted off the plug.
    Fear.
I plugged in the original AC Power cord and..NOTHING. No signs of life.
    Disconnected battery
    Riconnected original AC power.
It powers on normally.. good sign.

If I attach the battery with the os running (in AC mode) WITH AC still plugged..
the screen dims, Windows suggest me that battery is connected but at 0% and DISCHARGING ..it should be rechargin it instead nothing.
some minutes and it turns off..

I opened all the case..unmounted everything..
there was some black (burned) "point" near a USB 1-2 soldering..removed and cleaned it with alchool.
Nothing strange near the power connector of AC neither of Battery! Cleaned too just in case.

Now the situation is: I can use it only with AC power because it seems NOT TO SWITCH from battery to AC , and NOT RECHARGING it (but it's relieved by system and RMClock).

    What is broken??
    Motherboard or battery ??
    Any way to know it?

I need to know it in time because my battery at 0% (in the fridge) will not survive too long before being totally unusable

Many thanks to everyone will answer

Sounds like the aftermarket adapter fried the charging circuit for the battery. That would require the motherboard to be replaced. While it's possible the battery itself is fried, it sounds like it's actually working on battery power (albeit not for long, as it's nearly dead).

So in your opinion it's the circuit on the mobo wich is fried, Right?
It is still working with ac power..
Isn't Anyway to locate the problem and solder or clean to fix it in your opinion?

Many many Thanks to anyone would answer. It's always a pleasure to have this forum popoulated by notebook retailers also! :)

I just noticed my FX3700M don't go on 3Dlow or 3D Perf frequencies anymore!
It is just stucked at 2d/throttle mode!
Tried vbios mod but a throttle @ 3D perf freq&voltage crashes at windows loading.
Tried Win 7 & XP. Also 8800M GTX do the same behaviour

what do I have to do?

    Hello everyone ...
I have a problem with the launch of games of all kinds .. bateria we often at 0% sometimes suddenly came up to 100% when I get into the game eg (WorldofTanls, worldofwarcraft, etc.) at the entrance of the games most often in the beginning goes off and I have to it fallen .. I thought it was not overheating .. I worked format that does not have a mistake .. but I still think that is the power or batery ... there is clean is not damaged or burned or perhaps even corked out on air .. everything is ok ..
Does someone can help me or at least presumed that the problem?

    Thank you!

Have you checked there is no dust on the connector and it is securing properly?
