Yes the memory frequency will downclock to 333MHz, and the timings will downclock to 4-4-4-12. When you overclock via SetFSB the timings will remain the same, but the memory frequency will increase depending upon the increase in FSB.

    Thanks big mike!

Yes, I have good 667 memory right now; I’m looking to get up to 1000 in memory speed to push my T9300 to 3.1 or 3.2 respectively. The RAM I have now will do 950+, which is pretty good considering its 667, but I’m sure a good 800 speed RAM will do 1000FSB. I feel pretty sure the RAM will work; I just want to hear from some Sager user’s who’ve actually used this in their notebook, especially a M570RU user.

OT Good job to you sir for getting an overclock on your CPU!

    Holly XXXX!

You mean the timings will remain tight, even though it's overclocked???

I'm not aware of SetFSB lowering timings. Not aware of any app for that fact that will lower timings on the mobile platform.

When you buy a higher rated memory than your notebook use, then normally the memory will downclock to a lower timing. I just didn't know, that if you raised the FSB the memory would keep the lower timing and not raise to its default timing?

Yes timings will remain the same. Even if you OC the RAM frequency to say 933MHz or 1066MHz....
I could demonstrate it to you, but I would have to log out of vista and into XP. :p

    Dude!

Do you know what that means? Will keeping the lower timings affect how high the RAM will overclock?

Time to sell my 4GB of 667 LOL!

Naw, I don't think it will affect the overclock.
You can check the 'fixed timings' thing, by probably OCing your FSB by 33MHz, which will OC the memory frequency by 133MHz = frequency will be 800MHz, but the timings should be the same as they were for 667MHz. You can verify the timings though CPU-Z.

    kaltmond,

Are you planning on upgrading to an 8800GTX or 9800GTX? If so, get the 800 speed RAM while you’re at it. I’m going to go that route, once I get bored of trying to take this RAM to the next level.

The ram installed is default@800 CL5, from A-Data. i changed the timings and reflashed to 667@4334. I cannot oc much like u did via FSB, since X90 has a x14 multi, 230x14 already 3220MHz. More will cause a BSOD......Maybe i should try another X90.. :D

And i really hope RU can support 98MGTX, but still no info yet..
