Help!
I've got an M570RU with Vista x64 just installed on it. About 80% of the time when I insert a flash drive into either of the right hand USB sockets, the machine locks up hard (i.e. requires holding the power button down for 10 seconds to turn it off). No error message of any kind -- just dead with the screen frozen on what ever it happened to be displaying.
I just re-installed Vista x64 last night thinking that it was a corrupted file, and the problem is exactly the same as before. I've installed the latest Intel chipset drivers from the Clevo website (which as far as I can see are the only version ever released).
The problem occurs with several flash drives that work fine on other machines. In fact it seems to work fine with 32 bit Vista 32 on the same laptop. It also seems to work fine if I plug it into the back USB socket or into a hub. This would seem to rule out the drive or the hardware itself.
Has anyone else had issues with Vista 64 and plugging in USB devices? I might also add that it has also locked up a few times when inserting an SD flash card, but that's no really reproducible and seems to usually work. The USB problem happens almost every time I test it (and it's obviously a pain to test).
I'd love to hear from anyone else having the issue or if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it!
Thanks!

I never had any problem with the USB drive, but then again,I pretty much used stock drivers for the chipset and system. I usually update from Sager`s site , but just the basics.
Video drivers come from laptopvideo2go, all the rest from the manufacturers...
I guess you should try to update the chipset drivers from sager`s site with the newest possible.

I downloaded Sager's Intel chipset drivers and they are identical to the ones from the Clevo sight. So you're using Vista 64 and no problems plugging stuff into the USB ports on the right side?

This could be unrelated, since I am running 32bit XP, but my external USB sound card (EMU 0404) had serious problems until I disabled the infrared receiver in the BIOS. It is disabled by default (apparently for a reason) so it is worth checking on your laptop.

I actually had already disabled the CIR hardware and had never loaded the driver since I knew I wouldn't use it. Thanks for the suggestions though!
