I has a Clevo M570RU and I'm trying to replace the 8800m GTX graphics card but i run into a problem and i don't want to break or damage the heat sink.... My previous card died and putting a new one in.

i have the heat sink off but the copper casing on the card is still on... i have removed all screws and it doesn't seem to just magically pop off like in the guide posted....

there are 6 little tabs on the sides (3 on each side), just use a little screwdriver to pry them open.

When dealing with expensive electronics, the word "pry" always makes me cringe, but yeah, that's you have to do most of the time.

topic question stated... should it? cards from both are the same but i think its more of a heatsink issue... a card from M570R doesnt have all the silver heatwrap on it.. and nor does it have these small screw holes near the GPU... is there a way i could modify the D90 card or heatsink to get it to fit nice in the M570? i can post pictures if it would help....

The card itself should be the same, but you will need the heatsink/copper enclosure for the M570RU, and possibly the vBIOS from an M570 card

i have the heatsink and and stuff for the M570... this card is from a D901C and im putting it in a M570. Its just that some small spacer's or small screw points near the GPU are sticking out and it doesnt fit snug.... if worst comes to worst i can cut a spacer off from the M570R heatsink or removing the two screw points next to the GPU so it fits nice.... ive compared both cards and i checked... they are the same its just probably since it has the screw holes sticking up for the D901C heatsink is causing the problem....

you need to gently remove the D901C back plate, some gentle heat might help.

The backplate on the back of the card that gives it more rigidity from flexing is held on by adhesive. Just wedge your way inbetween the plate and the PCB and pry it off. Use a heat gun or a hair dryer to help loosen up the adhesive.
