don't bother flashing it, your'll probably end up having to do a blind flash or worse.

Using the latest "Official" Nvidia drivers.

Left existing thermal pads in place............so far idle temp @ 40 !

3700m does not overclock well. Best I could do was 600/1500/950. That was stable with furmark but couldn't complete a full 3dmark run.

Fully stable clocks would be just under 280m stock clocks.

Vram overclocks well, core needs more voltage (HP cards wont go above 1.03v).

    HI again guys,
So I decided to buy a 3700m NB9E-GLM3 from the states to replace my 8700m on my clevo M570RU, I didn't flash anything and when I try booting up it starts beeping for 30 sec then stops and nothing on screen.I paid £180 overall and feel like killing the guy that sold me this.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I could upload you my 280m bios which works perfectly on my hp .10 fx 3700m in a m570tu

Hi Fragzero, thanks for the reply.
Problem is I don't have any other hardware that I can use to flash it or test it.
the only thing I know is it should be compatible with a clevo m570ru out of the box

That sounds as if there is a vBios flashed that isn´t supported by the M570RU.
There are a few units out there originally with the 7950GTX that can´t take even the 8700m GT and won´t take the FX3700m, but as far as I´ve learned, if so, they just stay "black", not beep.
So maybe you should ask the seller if he used a special vBios on that card, e.g. the GTX 280m...?

Flashed my 3700m back to the original bios, works flawless.

-an unsupported card (which means it'll never work)
-a broken card (you'll have to get a replacement)
-a incompatible vbios. Which is problematic since you can’t flash it.

I'd try to arrange a refund. if you can't get a refund i'm willing to try/flash the card in my m17x (i'm selling the m570tu). Wouldn't cost you that much since we are both from europe.

Thanks Tirenz and Fragzero for your replies,

my m570ru came originally with a 8700m so the 3700 should work if it has the original bios, I have sent an email to the seller asking if they had a different vbios.(they were selling it as new)
the problem with the refund is that I already spent £140 + £41 customs charges,
and then I will have to pay another £25 to send it back and no one guarantees that I will get the £140 back they might say it works or something.
I would rather try to send it to someone who is willing to help flashing it to its original bios.
    where are you from Frag?
    Regards,
    Paulo

Since i have 2 free mxm slots i could even flash it if it has a corrupt bios. (i accidently flash my 3700m with a g94 bios once :( )

Everything i've tried so far worked flaweless in this m17x so if it's not physical problem it should work fine. (booting/testing/flashing)

Too bad i found a buyer for my m570tu, they aren't that different so i could have tried your card in it but i won't have it anymore by the time i get your card. (Unless you decide to overnight it :D)

I have a Sager 5793 and my m8800gtx just failed (tea spill, not bake-fixable). I am interested in popping in an FX 3700m. It sounds like if I get the right one it is just plug and play.

    1. What should I avoid (besides the Alienware ones)?
    2. Will a new Lenovo (such as this) work out of the box?
    3. Any reputable vendors? I see alantech referenced, but have no idea who this is.
    4. What kind of price does a new or refurb card run for?

    Thanks for all the help.

It seems that HP FX3700m cards are the easy way to go. I am thinking of getting this to put in my M57RU.

Will the m8800gtx heatsink fit without modification? Do I need any type of shims?

Should this card work stock? I am not a fan of blind flashing the VBIOS.

    I have a rock 770.

There is plenty of talk about possible upgrades for the M570RU that came with a 8700 etc etc

What about people whose machine came with the 7950 GTX? Would FX3700 cards work ?
