    Hello guys,

I spend my days trucking around Europe with my M570RU, using it to play games during down time. The problem is, once my 8800M GTX gets going, it will blow the fuse right out of this truck:

It seems that the 150W 24v-to-220v converter isn't enough for the power demands of my monster CPU! Just playing Winamp, she'll run just fine.

Has anyone got experience running this machine on the road? Or at least have exact spects on how many W / amps this laptop draws at full tilt? I've seen 24v-to-20v converters too, but they only crank 3500 mA and 6A respectively, and I wonder if that's enough to run our little monster in my big monster.

    Any help is welcome!

You did not mention how you have your power inverter plugged in. Generally speaking, 150 watts is sufficient for a laptop.

While a simple plug in inverter is OK for short duration laptop use, any kind of long term use really should not be going through a cigarette lighter plug.

The reason your fuse is popping is you are drawing too much power through a system not designed to carry it at a sustained rate--not because your inverter is inadequate.

The fuse is there to protect your power system--using a laptop through a cigarette lighter like that can cause a fire because the wiring system isn't designed for that kind of use.

Many power inverters can be wired directly to the battery and that is the preferred method for what you are doing.
