    My T9500 died.

I need to get a replacement CPU ASAP but I have serious budget constraints due to recent unemployment.

Locally I can get one of the following:

    T2310
    T2060
    T1300

Would these CPUs even work? Are there other low end CPUs that I should be looking for?

I've found plenty of info on the top end CPUs that the M570RU-U/NP5793 will support but not the low end.

I would *greatly* appreciate any assistance.

This laptop is my life and I am in a panic...

    Argh...

wiiwok. Those are socket M CPU's. They will not work with socket P on your notebook.

How did you deduce that your CPU died?

Not sure what is wrong with it. I was able to put a T7100 in it to test and the motherboard seems fine. (CPU was borrowed from a friend who also has a M570RU-U.)

And, no, I can't really afford much beyond say $20-30 on a CPU right now.

OK... looks like the T2310 is a socket P... you're right on the T2060 and the T1300... socket M.

    Would a T2310 work?

Yes, that's correct. The T2310 is socket P and will work with your notebook.

the T2310 should work since its a CPU of the same platform.

the Intel PM965 chipset should be able to support it.
