    M570TU Battery Question

    Should there be a rubber pad under the battery as shown in the red box below?

    It seems to push against the battery too much and now when I push my battery into place a crack appears:

    This is how much it sticks up before having to push it in to lock:

    I haven't dropped it nor has my notebook received any impact. The crack disappears when you take the battery out.

    That's the same rubber pad that all of us M570xU users have. I think you're just pushing too hard.

    I only applied enough pressure to allow the battery to lock into place and rarely removed it. I seen there is no pad in the manual picture so I removed it and the crack no longer appears when the battery is locked into place.

    The battery now locks into place like my old dell did with very little effort.
