I have the M570TU, and I recently installed an Intel X25-M ssd and win7 x64 business. When booting, the bios uses 14-15 sec, and windows uses 15 sec, so the total time between pushing the on button and writing my password is about 30 sec.
Until now I have not cared to much about boot times, but since the ssd makes windows load in 15 sec, and the bios uses about 15 sec, I see room for improvement. I flashed my bios to .18/.12, but that changed nothing. So I have some questions.
1. How much time does your system use from power on to windows starts loading?
2. Are there any settings in the bios that will improve the boot time?
3. The setting "Boot time diagnostic screen", when enabled, will it cause the system to perform more diagnostics, or will it just inform me of the diagnostics that are performed? (I don't like the splash screen)
4. The setting "Legacy OS boot". What does it do? It says: "Select disable to attempt EFI boot first and legacy boot second". Which setting should I choose?
5. Is there any way to reduce the time "Push F2 to enter setup" is displayed?
As you can see, my questions are about reducing the boot times caused by the bios. I have found several threads about reducing windows boot times, so that is not very important right now. Hope some of you can help![]()

There's an option in your bios to enable fast booting, or disable POST tests in the bios. -
I've just checked in my BIOS now and the option is not there anymore. It used to be there...
Anyway, it takes me 15 sec from power up to Starting Windows screen and another 20 seconds to reach the desktop. Total boot time: 35 seconds.
The setting "Boot time diagnostic screen", when enabled, will it cause the system to perform more diagnostics, or will it just inform me of the diagnostics that are performed? - it just removes the splash screen.
I have Legacy OS enabled.

Yes, that is generally about the right amount of time from power on to desktop for the M570TU.

I didn't find any fast booting option either. Thats why I asked the question twice.
Then I can start working on optimizing windows, since there is nothing more to gain here.. Thanks for your help
