Does anyone know if Clevo have previously released drivers to make the volume on the speakers of their notebooks go louder, could really do with them releasing one for the m570TU the speakers can go louder, currently there is no distortion at all from the speakers so they have it in them. Is there a possibility that the X-Fi Express Card would make the speakers louder, can you use the processing power of the X-Fi using the speakers on the laptop?

the x-fi doesn't affect the onboard speakers at all, on both sound quality and volume.

That is not true, the x-fi can loop playback through the onboard speakers, though it doesn't make much difference to the volume

I find that the sound quality is better through the x-fi, but not hugely

Only way I've been able to get the speakers any louder is to go into the realtek audio manager and set environment to carpeted hallway and the equalizer to powerful. That helps a little bit, but other than using some headphones or external speakers, your stuck.

If you use no environment and just turn the EQ all the way up, iTunes literally rocks the house with those built-in speakers, provided you have SRS enabled and using the EQ for iTunes. I have a set of 2.1’s, but I did experiment with the built-in speakers, and they are much more impressive than I first thought. Your assumption is correct; they can hold a lot more than what the system is pushing into them. With realtek audio EQ set to max and iTunes EQ set to max, it handles the volume on high, and it’s pretty darn loud! Throw in a Rambo 4 DVD with all EQ’s set to max; the rain falling will blow you away!

Try the Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Crimson Roses is showing you not only the panel you should be at, but also how the EQ should be set with no environment. I hate using environment, because it doesn’t fare so well with SRS enabled.

If you tweak both the panels that nhat2991 and Crimson Roses posted, you will get loud sound provided SRS is enabled (FN +2). And then using the EQ of whichever program you use for music/video, the sound is more than enough with my testing.

If you go to the control panel, you will double click on the orange speaker icon. Or, you can just double click on the orange speaker icon that’s in your startup tray.
