    Hello,

Sorry for asking what is probably a stupid question, but I'm sure I'm missing something here. I'm trying to hook my M570TU laptop up to my 5.1 surround sound system. I've hooked a stereo phonto to L/R RCA from each port on the front of the laptop to the corresponding left/right on the system.

Unfortunately, I dont seem to be able to tell the Realtek system to map the jacks to surround sound. My RealTek Audio Manager looks completely different to the one in the manual that tells me to press a non-existent "Remap inputs" option, and I get no popup asking me to tell it what I've plugged in.

I've tried upgrading and downgrading drivers to no avail. I've attached what I get in the RealTek HD audio manager - it wont let me choose anything but stereo, and I get no option to reassign inputs.

How can I get my ports on the front to do surround sound?

Can the M570TU even do surround sound in this way?

double click on the coloured dots on the right hand side of the window under "analog" (or right click and click on "connector retasking")

Thanks for the reply = unfortunately, I cannot get this to work for me.

If I double click on them, they just take me to the relevant pages (double clicking line in goes to line in, double clicking blue takes me to speakers, double clicking mic takes me to mic).

When I right click, there is only the option for Audio Device Settings, no Connector Retasking. Audio Device Settings does the same as above.

If I go to the advanced settings, there is no option to turn on the auto popup which is what everyone keeps on talking about.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, if that makes a difference

Thanks for the reply - good to know it's not the Win7 x64 that's breaking it... so something else must be wrong

This is exactly what I am wondering:

Is jack reassignment possible with the M570TU?

Or is my M570TU not... right? I just looked at the front of it compared to other pictures I've seen - other pictures have the coloured inputs on the front - mine are all black? Are there different types of M570TU with not all having support for doing this?

Mine looks like the one in the Clevo picture here:
[IMG] - note all the black inputs at the front - not coloured

That's just different jacks being used, I think all TU series have all black jacks (multi coloured photos are the RU series - the photos are often used interchangeably due to having little visible difference).

Are you using the latest version of the realtek software (R2.39 - available here)?

Yep, it's definitely the latest version - but as I said, all I get is what is in the picture at the top :(

I tried installing XP and trying again, and I now get the option when I plug something in, but it tells me "Unsupported device" and fails to work.

Has anyone with a M570TU had any success with surround sound?
