    Hello

Everyday I am having more and more problems with reading text on my Clevo M570TU based XXODD notebook that has a WUXGA (1920x1200) panel. I am thinking of replacing this panel by a WSXGA+ (1680x1050) or even a WSXGA (1440x900) panel.

Has anyone here tried it yet? Is it just a matter of replacing the panel or is there more to it than that?

Furthermore where could I buy a WSXGA+ or WSXGA panel considering that I live in Belgium (Western Europe)?

its pretty simple to replace the LCD panel.

just to make it easy, get the same brand of LCD panel that you are replacing so that you wont have to worry about getting another LCD inverter.

You can probably custom order an LCD panel through your vendor... just contact them.

Gophn, could you please post a screenshot of your Windows desktop in WUXGA resolution? I want to see how small is the icon and text in 17" WUXGA screen.

    TQ.

I have contacted XXODD and they could not help me although they sell 17" notebooks with a WXGA+ panel. I guess that it is easier to just tell me that they can't help me than to help me. Anyway I was not happy with the quality of my current WUXGA panel (AU Optronics). The screen is too dark and I get a lot of smearing (I don't know how else to call it in English) and color distortion.

Have you tried increasing system fonts, icons, etc? There are ways to make text larger before resorting to a new screen.
