I just installed a 4965AGN wifi mini PCI-e card in my Clevo M570ru, however, after installing it, I got a "Found new hardware" on boot up, then I installed the driver from intel.com, but I still cant see any wireless network (I have a Wifi G router at home, my desktop is plugged on wifi and is sitting right next to my laptop). I did connect the 3 antennas, (They were labeled WF-3 and WF-2... I figured the 3rd antenna was WF-1, the the label was torn). Is there any switch or anything I have to do to make it work? I havent found anything that concerns wifi in the BIOS.
Thanks

there is a wireless toggle. look in the manual (at the beginning) for the Toggle Keys.

So the triangle with a line coming out of it is supposed to be a Wifi sign!!!?? Oh wow! very obvious lol! Thank you gophn!

However, pressing Fn+F11 does not work (Still no network and the wifi is seen as being off) and nothing is displayed on the screen (Like for Sound and brightness)
-
Is it possible that since I did not purchase any wifi card, they disabled the Fn+F11 key? Or didnt activate it? If so, How can I activate it?

It is not possible that you did not buy a wi-fi card, it comes standard.
-
no Lawl not if you buy barebone
-
there is a driver that you has to install to enable all the FN+ command keys. Usually called atk blablabla. Should be in the disc that came with the laptop.
-
Yes, I did install that driver as well.
-
Hey Idiamond where did you buy your Clevo from?

As an afterthought make sure you connected the wireless antennas to the card otherwise it will have very poor range.
-
I bought it at Eurocom.
Yes, I connected all 3 antennas, and I tried scanning inches away from the router. However, the Intel tool says the Wifi card is turned off. The Card was detected by windows on boot up, Drivers installed fine, but the Fn+F11 key does not work, unlike all other keys that work fine! -
I believe the wifi card was installed correctly, I pushed it in the pci-e port where the 3 antennas were taped, screwed both screws, snapped in all 3 antennas (labeled WF-2 WF-3 and one unlabeled) in the right places. I have not seen any power switch/wire, which I believe is normal since its a PCI-E port. However, Fn+F11 or Fn+F12 does absolutely nothing. the Wifi led does not light up either.

Could a m570ru owner confirm that there should be a soldered wire just between the audio jacks and the HDD? A wire is soldered on one end of a resistor to a chip on the right of the resistor.
-
heres a pic of it done by Sager:
-
Kinda hard to see it, but there really doesnt seem to be any soldered wire there...
On this picture, its right above the HDD, and I see no wire there. -
However, I have some devices without drivers installed. In the device manager, I see that :
Fingerprint Sensor (Which shouldnt be working on my system)
Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus (Which I believe has no impact on wifi)
and 2x Unknown device
My network adapter driver is installed and detected correctly.
Could any1 tell me if they see a little wifi logo on the top left corner when they turn it on and off? Like for sound and touchpad on/off (when using the hotkey drivers). -
just bumping, still havent fixed wifi!

Have you spoken to or phoned tech support at Eurocom? Wjat do they say (about this problem and the wire?)
