Hi guys, merry xmas btw,i have a year old laptop with the 8800m gtx it is serving me well and plays all the latest games very well, however the day will come when it just wont cut it.

will this model support a 9800m gtx 1gb card,or even a quad-core cpu as a user upgrade option?

it should... but I would not recommend upgrading to the 9800M GTX.... especially for the price difference.

you will only get a 5-10% overall performance gain.... not worth it.

about 15-20% realtime differences .. but probably more like 10-15% in overall usage

    Doubtful.

Although I would agree it may not be worth it to upgrade to the 9800M GTX from the 8800.

We'll have to see if any other cards are supported in the future.

yes it will support the 9800gtx, no it will not support quads, they are only renaming the next series of cards. they will be the exact same cards simply renamed 2xx series cards... so i dont think we will see much new till mid next year at least
