So I've got an out of warranty M570U (NP5760) with a burnt out power jack (probably disconnected from the motherboard). I'm also a bit strapped for cash. This is something of an undesirable combination.

Does anyone have experience with repairs of this type? I'd welcome advice of any kind - how to do it myself, who to go to, what the likely cost to me is going to be, and the like. Thanks!

I would suggest waiting until you can spare the notebook and the money to actually send it in to Sager, since you don't want to risk damaging the system more, but IF the only problem is that the power jack has come disconnected from the motherboard, a soldering iron and some solder might be enough to fix the problem.

Clevo doesn't make their notebook assembly manuals public, however, so that would be an entirely at your own risk repair effort.

If it only takes some soldering you would be looking at a $80 labor charge at Sager. (+Shipping)
