    Hi.
Have searched but questions still not clear. No luck fom Clevo site either. It's all in Chinese to start with. The UK site/agent don't/won't respond. Hopefully someone here will know the answers.

    I have a Clevo M571TU. Spec briefly as follows from 'Everest';
CPU Type Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Extreme X9100, 3066 MHz
    CPU Alias Penryn
    North Bridge Intel Cantiga PM45
    South Bridge: Intel 82801IM ICH9M
    Intel Platform Montevina
    Supported FSB Speeds FSB533, FSB667, FSB800, FSB1066
Supported Memory Types DDR2-667 SDRAM, DDR2-800 SDRAM, DDR3-667 SDRAM, DDR3-800 SDRAM, DDR3-1066 SDRAM
    Maximum Memory Amount 8 GB

    That's my cpu above and I have 4GB 1066 (2x2GB) PC5300 RAM, 2GB Turbo Mem & nVidia 9800M GTX.

My motherboard has been ill since I bought the machine and it's progressively getting worse. Bits are dying as time goes by.
    I need a new motherboard. (& Biometric Device/Fingerprint Reader).

Does anyone know where I can obtain one - I've tried everywhere I can think of and nobody seems to know.

Does anyone know whether the M571RU-U is the same motherboard. I've been told by several sources that it is but I have my doubts. I've yet to see one with my processor and/or 1066 memory.

Does anyone know whether I can fit 2 x 4GB 1066 memory on my motherboard. Again, confusion, I'm told I can but cannot find a memory supplier who agrees.

Thanx in anticipation to fellow Clevo owners

Hi MrDJ & thanx for the welcome.
I'm in the UK and ironically it's Goldenstar who won't respond.

I've had Clevo's for many years and always been very happy up until this one. It's been a nightmare scenario from day one. That's the 1st time I returned it to the retailer, Day 1.
After 3 months and some very strong eMails I got it back broken a little bit more. That's been repeated several times, I send it back, they break it some more and return it whilst blaming everybody from Intel to Microsoft. I could fill a book with the outright lies they have fed me.
So I've had enough and am hoping to fit a new mainboard myself once and for all.
I paid £3200 for this machine and it is without doubt the biggest dissapointment I've ever had buying computer gear.

When it behaves it's a great machine and I just can't bring myself to put it in the bin where it belongs.

Thankyou for your many links, I will commence to investigate them in the morning.
We did have a Clevo specialist up in the Midlands but they were recently bought out (Sept) and have ceased stocking motherboards.

    Regards
