So I'm trying to connect my friend's Sager onto the internet and I find out that his NIC isn't installed and I have to change the TCP/IP connection protocol (changing the data value of 0 to 1 since he's using a fresh install of Win XP Pro).

I regedit'ed and fix the TCP/IP data value, but after I try installing the driver for the LAN/NIC card....it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

What am I doing wrong here? I tried to uninstall and re-install the driver, but I get the same alert at the end everytime.

    ANY HELP would be appreciated!!

should i go ahead and just download the same driver you downloaded, but the XP version??

my only other question is, why is his intel wifi 4965 AGN card not registering either?? it gives me the same code 10....

yeah, try the same realtek driver xp version for the lan, try getting the latest driver from intel for the wifi ( here), and while you're there, get the latest chipset driver as well ( here).

^ so I tried the XP version of the same driver... and it still doesn't work...

I've asked my friend to uninstall all of the drivers and reinstall everything in order again to see if it'll work that way...
