The right hinge which allows the LCD to fold back and forth got disconnected. Hard to tell if it broke off or just disconnected. Anyone has this issue or know how to fix or where to buy the replacement part?

Been a while since I've seen the hinges on this model, but if I recall there is a screw on the back of the laptop for each hinge, you could just loosen that screw and see if it broke/fell off.

I agree with the two above, seems like a broken hinge... Judging from 1st and 2nd picture, there seems to be shattered plastic :(

Looks like I have a similar problem, but in my case the hinge broke while I was opening the lid and it broke in a different spot.

Can anyone recommend Clevo parts supplier in Europe, because RJTech wants too much for this M570RU hinge.

    P.S.
When finally I will get this hinge replacement I will have to disassemble the whole LCD, so I was thinking to change my LCD's (LPL0B0A) backlight . The brightness of the screen is really poor (compared it while assembling my sisters ASMOBILE S965) , so I was thinking about LED backlight conversion kits , but it looks like there are no kits for Clevo's nor for LG-Philips screens. Maybe someone heard about a hack for replacing CCFL's with LED backlights ? I found one on Hack-a-day, but it is for a LCD monitor . Any thoughts on dim LCD solutions ?

All this hinge breaking has me a bit worried, but I have always opened and closed my screen with the utmost care. People ridicule me for it, but when I watch them and their notebooks, flipping it up or slamming it down, it breaks my heart.

I was pretty careful with my M570RU too, but bad things things just keep happening with it. First audio, then this, at least the performance is great and was useful in CAD.

You're bumming me out, "was useful in CAD" sounds like you are at the end of the road here! I'm sure replacing the hinge will be well worth it, even fancy automobiles have random parts quality issues. Get the parts and fix her! Also, I have found that disassembly of the machine is very easy compared to most mainstream notebooks.

It is not the end of the world. If there will be no suggestions for alternative hinge sources I will buy it from RJTech. Some time ago I also found a Servicing Manual whit details for disassembly. I am not the "Consumer" type so I will have mine M570RU until it something will happen to the MB or some other catastrophic failure. Really like this beast.

Right ON! I'm going to run my system to the ground as well. I will be happy if I get a total of 5 years out of it, but hopefully more. (got it early Feb '08- no issues)

I have a question about my M57RU. When the PC starts a program, or a game, the processor's fan starts to run at almost a maximum speed making a lot of noise. I know that there is a way to make it work silent and at a slower speed by pressing the Fn + Key 3, but the thing is it does not stay at that speed. It starts again at the full speed. Is there a way or a function button that makes this fan stay at a speed without getting a hi-speed spinning? I thank you in advance for all of you who are trying to give an answer to our problems. I hope there is an answer to this one.

    Hi all,

first of all, sry for my bad english.

I had the same problem with the Hinge like LAZAS, I fixed it. I disassambled the upper part with the display, to get the Hinge. I Worked very carefully, so nothing is broken. As I Assambled it, the display wont turn on... it works with an extern Monitor. Are there any Security Mechanisms or something, wich I forget? I cant find anything on my own.

I looked a little bit on the Internet, and I also cant find some Tutorials for that... Maybe you can halp me here, its the biggest forum for Clevos which I found.
