    I am looking at a Clevo M760T that has a problem of the display not always working after boot. My client spilled water underneath it, I am not very dexterous so my techie friend (who's worked with comps for 30 years) took it apart to see what he could do. I managed to extract the licence key as the spillage disintegrated the sticker, put a new hard drive in, reinstall Windows, and everything (apart from the random display) works. I did tests with graphic card testing software, and burn-in tests, and all the tests passed. Would updating the BIOS help (at the moment it's a Phoenix SecureCore 1.00.05 17 September 2009) if there is one? I tried the instructions in the link, but the second part about creating a folder doesn't work!

    Thankyou!

    Do I just double-click on the exectuble or do I have to use a boot disk?

    I booted into DOS with a USB flash drive and at the prompt (the above files are on the same flash drive) I typed update.bat.
    This started the updating process but then, at the entry 'Check Flash Memory Types', it got to 'CallDeviceTable, IPFunction' and then I got the error:

    Phoenix Phlash16:
    Part ID not found of supported parts.

    It won't let me flash it from Windows either.

    The operating system is Windows Vista Home Basic SP2
    Intel 4 Series Mobile Chipset
    1GB RAM.

    The current BIOS is:

    Phoenix SecureCore
    BIOS: 1.00.05
    KBC / EC Firmware Revision: 1.00.15
    Intel GL40 VGA
    VBIOS Revision 1785
    VBIOS Build Date 4/9/09 (as I'm in the UK, I think that's the 9 April!)

    If you could tell me why I cannot flash this BIOS, it would be very helpful.

    Did you start by updating the BIOS or the EC/KBC ?

    Well, may it deserve a try to flash the EC/KBC again before flashing the BIOS.

    One more thing : Are you sure that it's a M760T? Your Clevo is re-branded by whom? What is the Serial Number on the sticker at the bottom of the laptop (starting with NK............)?

    If I put the EC on before the BIOS update, as it is the same EC revision, will it make a difference (considering it's a new BIOS)?

    Recheck the red bold character if it's "6" or "G"

    NKM7 G0T000G9L01848

    For the EC update, you re-flash it to be sure that it is really the same.

    PH161713 100228.72t /mode=3 /s /x /c /bbl /doskey /force

    tienes que encontrar la ayuda del PH161713 (en DOS : PH161713 /H)

    si pero eso es para el manager memort extend XMS pero no le veo funcionalidad en este caso! creo que la opcion seria:

    /N Program only if BIOS.WPH is different than system BIOS.

    tu que crees?

    la version PH161713 solo tiene estas opciones de mas:

    /FileUUID Generate a new UUID to BIOS image(Will not flash)
    /ShowFileUUID Show UUID of a BIOS bin file.
    /Force Update BIOS from image file directly without any modification

    y si tu computador es bien un M760T ?

    Puedes abrir el computador y buscar el part number de la tarjeta madera "6-......." o "Z6-......."? o qualquier sticker en la tarjeta grafica u otra con "NKM........" porque si Siragon sacaron el sticker del exterior, no creo que le habieran sacado de lo dentro.

    Pues eso estoy pensando yo también! :S Siragon trabaja mal!

    Everest y CPU-Z indican que es una M760T pero el EC no trabajan bien :( a pesar de que soluciona el problema de la batería el teclado se desconfigura

    Los stikers internos son:

    * 6-31-M72RN-101 Lemtech

    * SYS - BJJKJF

    * Tarjeta Madre 735SL 151131110TM0004

    * PN: 6-31-M72SN-104-1 REV.A00 (m720S heat sink module)

    * 1TM730509241479 V3.1A

    Pero todos son sticker no veo ninguna informacion en la motherboard!

    A que modelo pertenecen esos stickers?

    Externamente es igual a la M735T al parecer es esa!
    La laptop nueva traía las siguientes versiones (antes de flashear con el BIOS de la M760T):
    - BIOS 1.02.26GT
    - EC Firmware 1.00.09

    Voy a volver a probar con el Phoenix Crisis Recovery pero con la versión por defecto que era la 1.02.26GT es esta? ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M723T/M723T_11.zip

    O podrías poner una imagen de todas las versiones!

    Voy a intentar que Siragon me envié la ultima actualización del BIOS!

    Y si pruebo con los BIOS W76xT??
    Todos los programas (Everest,dxdiag,CPU-Z) me indican que mi BIOS es W760T/M760T/M740T antes de que lo flasheara!

    Mi laptop tiene estas especificaciones:
    - Core 2 duo T6600 2.2Ghz
    - 4gb DDR2 800 mhz
    - Chipset Intel GM45

    puedes enviarme una captura con todos links BIOS de la W76xT?
    para probar!
    muchas gracias por toda tu ayuda amigo!
