Anyone have this pair currently? I'm wondering how the battery life is and what kind of temperatures you have.
Thanks!

Here's a thread about the M860TU and Qx9200. It should provide you an idea as what to expect when putting a quad core in the M860ETU chassis.

Sometimes the biggest of the batch isn't the most logical or preferential choice. -
You want future proof get a desktop. Look at those poor alienware souls who paid $4k for their m15x a year ago, a <$2k laptop these days can easily beat them.

Remember, core 2 duo is a beast by itself. Its 60% improved over core duo and miles ahead of anything pentium. -
I have M860TU with QX9300. No heat problems at all. Fan gets a bit loud when when running heavy processes (like vlookup 200k records vs 200k)
I'm trying to find out what the acceptable max temps are. Highest i've pushed them thus far = approx 70 c. AVG 48 c
fyi - to compensate for anticipated heat probems i got a ssd instead.. etc. see my specs below. Ordered from AVA

You revived an old thread
But it's always good to hear more info about the Qx9300 in the M860TU.
I plan on getting a Q9200 when my P9600 won't be enough for my school work or my games.
Oh by the way, when you say the highest you've pushed it so far, what do you mean? It should stabilize at a max temp after let's say 4 primes or something, and that's pretty much the max you can push it. Unless you're talking about an OC.
M860ETU + QX9300 = heat issues?
